Although its inauguration was expected for the first quarter of this year, according to <strong>La Voz de Ibiza <\/strong>,<strong> new setbacks<\/strong> have appeared<strong> on the horizon.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2024\/06\/25\/retiran-la-grua-del-parador-de-ibiza-que-lleva-en-la-construccion-desde-2020\/?swcfpc=1\">The crane of the Parador de Ibiza, which has been under construction since 2020, is removed.<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This has to do with the <strong>connectivity to the water supply network<\/strong>. The public entity <strong>Turespa\u00f1a<\/strong>, which operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Spanish Government, considers that the work cannot be awarded directly but that <strong>a public bidding process<\/strong> must <strong>be carried out<\/strong>, despite the fact that there is only one supplier -in this case <em>Aqualia-<\/em> since it is an administrative concession. Because of this legal mumbo-jumbo, the opening of the water reservoir for the next summer season is at risk. However, this Thursday, in the framework of the <strong>International Tourism Federation (<a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2025\/01\/22\/pistoletazo-de-salida-para-fitur-2025-ibiza-y-formentera-presentan-la-nueva-temporada-turistica\/?swcfpc=1\">Fitur<\/a>)<\/strong> that is taking place in Madrid, there will be a technical meeting to try to unblock this issue. Sources consulted by<strong> La Voz de Ibiza<\/strong> said that <strong>everything<\/strong> could be <strong>ready for the autumn<\/strong>, although it is most likely that its opening will <strong>be postponed to the summer of 2026.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<h2>Last phase<\/h2>\n<p>In April last year, the central government, through the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, reported that &#8220;<strong>the Parador of Ibiza faces the last phase of the works for its next opening<\/strong>&#8220;. However, according to <strong>La Voz de Ibiza<\/strong>, this administrative step has not yet materialized.<\/p>\n<h2>Without crane<\/h2>\n<p>Last June,<strong>the company Acciona <a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2024\/06\/25\/retiran-la-grua-del-parador-de-ibiza-que-lleva-en-la-construccion-desde-2020\/?swcfpc=1\">removed the crane from the construction site of the Parador de Ibiza,<\/a><\/strong> which has been located there since 2020 and had not been used for months. In 2004 it was decided to use this 16th century fortress, which had been closed since the 1980s, as a Parador de Turismo. In 2008, renovation work began, but the discovery of archaeological remains forced them to be halted at the end of 2012, in addition to causing modifications to the initial project that resulted in significant increases in the budget.
