During the exhibition, the progress achieved in 2024 was celebrated and ambitious goals for this year were revealed, with a focus on restoring and protecting the <strong>Posidonia oceanica<\/strong> meadows, a key ecosystem for the <strong>Balearic Sea<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2025\/01\/22\/formentera-promociona-en-fitur-la-oferta-cultural-fuera-de-temporada-alta\/?swcfpc=1\">Formentera promotes at Fitur the cultural offer out of high season<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>A year of achievements: 24,000 Posidonia plants restored<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In 2024, Be Blue reached an important milestone with the planting of <strong>24,000 Posidonia plants<\/strong> in the waters of <strong>Ibiza<\/strong> and <strong>Formentera<\/strong>, thanks to the leadership of renowned marine biologist <strong>Manu San F\u00e9lix<\/strong>. During his speech at FITUR, San F\u00e9lix stressed that this work not only contributes to environmental balance, but also positions the Balearic Islands as a global benchmark in marine sustainability initiatives. <em>&#8220;Restoring Posidonia meadows is not only an act of conservation, but an essential step to ensure the health of our seas and combat climate change. Thanks to the commitment of our allied companies and the fact that every ticket contributes to this project, we have achieved exceptional results that motivate us to move forward,&#8221;<\/em> said San F\u00e9lix to an expectant audience. <\/p>\n<h2><strong>Ambitious targets for 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>With the slogan <strong>&#8220;Make your trip count&#8221;,<\/strong> Be Blue aims to expand its impact by 2025, with the goal of planting between <strong>30,000 and 50,000 Posidonia plants<\/strong>, an unprecedented effort in the <strong>Mediterranean<\/strong>. This commitment responds to the urgent need to halt the loss of this vital ecosystem, which has seen <strong>34% of its surface area<\/strong> disappear in recent decades. San Felix emphasized the importance of collaborative work: <em>&#8220;Despite the challenges, ambition and unity are key to reversing the damage caused. If we continue to work together, we can give the Mediterranean back the life it deserves.&#8221;<\/em> <\/p>\n<h2><strong>Beyond Posidonia: complementary projects<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Be Blue not only focuses on Posidonia restoration.
