In addition, it was a dry month with episodes of strong winds, especially in the last days due to the squall <em>Herminia<\/em>. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2024\/12\/17\/la-aemet-pronostica-el-tiempo-para-este-invierno-en-ibiza\/?swcfpc=1\">AEMET forecasts the weather for this winter in Ibiza<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Higher than normal temperatures<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The average temperature in Ibiza during January was <strong>12.3\u00baC<\/strong>, with an anomaly of <strong>1.3\u00baC<\/strong> with respect to the usual values. On Formentera, the average rose to <strong>13.9\u00baC<\/strong>, with a deviation of <strong>1.4\u00baC<\/strong> above the expected. These figures reflect a particularly warm month on all the islands of the Balearic archipelago.  <\/p>\n<p>The highest temperatures were recorded on <strong>January 23,<\/strong> when the thermometer reached <strong>23.2\u00baC in Ibiza<\/strong> and <strong>21.2\u00baC in Formentera<\/strong>. At the other extreme, the coldest day was <strong>January 15<\/strong>, when <strong>Sant Joan de Labritja marked 0.4\u00baC<\/strong>, the lowest temperature of the month on the island. In Formentera, the coldest day was <strong>January 16<\/strong>, with <strong>4.3\u00baC<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<h2><strong>A month with below average rainfall<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Rainfall was also well below normal in Pitiusas. In Ibiza, <strong>21.8 l\/m\u00b2<\/strong> was recorded, which is <strong>53% less<\/strong> than normal, while in Formentera rainfall reached <strong>17.0 l\/m\u00b2<\/strong>, <strong>50% less<\/strong> than expected for January. <\/p>\n<p>The rainiest day of the month in Ibiza was <strong>January 1,<\/strong> when <strong>25 l\/m\u00b2<\/strong> were collected <strong>in Sant Joan de Labritja<\/strong>. In Formentera, the day with the highest rainfall was <strong>January 16<\/strong>, with <strong>8 l\/m\u00b2<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<h2><strong>A windy January<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The wind was also the protagonist in January, with several days of strong gusts in Ibiza and Formentera. At Ibiza Airport, <strong>eight days of strong winds<\/strong> were recorded, when the norm is seven. In Formentera there were <strong>four days<\/strong> with intense gusts.  <\/p>\n<p>The squall <em>Herminia<\/em>, which affected the Balearic Islands at the end of the month, left the maximum wind gust in Ibiza on <strong>January 28<\/strong>, with <strong>76 km\/h at the Airport<\/strong>, while in Formentera the wind reached <strong>59 km\/h<\/strong> on <strong>January 27.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Fewer waves in Pitiusas compared to the rest of the Balearic Islands<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Another data highlighted by the climatological report is the presence of <strong>waves over three meters<\/strong>, although to a lesser extent in Ibiza and Formentera than in the rest of the archipelago.
