At Thursday&#8217;s meeting of the <strong>Consell d&#8217;Entitats<\/strong>, the Consell&#8217;s president, <strong>\u00d3scar Portas<\/strong>, along with the councilor of Mobility and Environment, <strong>Ver\u00f3nica Castell\u00f3<\/strong>, presented the possible scenarios that will mark the restrictions on access to the island for the next summer season. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2025\/02\/05\/gent-x-formentera-acusa-a-sa-unio-de-incumplir-las-medidas-de-formentera-eco-en-2024\/\"><strong>Gent x Formentera accuses Sa Uni\u00f3 of failing to comply with the measures of Formentera.eco in 2024.<\/strong> <\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The proposed changes include <strong>a reduction in the number of vehicles allowed for tourists<\/strong>, an <strong>increase in the quota for Ibiza residents<\/strong> and the <strong>consolidation of the current rates<\/strong>, maintaining the schedule of restrictions in force in recent years. Fewer visitor vehicles, more permits for Ibiza residents<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>One of the main changes proposed is a <strong>4% reduction in the number of visitor vehicles<\/strong>. This means that the quota for <strong>cars will go from 1,805 to 1,732 and motorcycles from 182 to 122.<\/strong> In parallel, the Consell has proposed <strong>an increase in the number of permits for Ibiza residents<\/strong>, from <strong>220 to 235 cars and from 20 to 50 motorcycles<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<p>This adjustment responds to the legal obligation to guarantee access to the island to Ibiza residents, after the <strong>previous six years of regulation have shown that the quota for this group has been insufficient<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Maintenance of the rental vehicle quota.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <strong>number of rental vehicles will remain unchanged<\/strong> from last year. The circulation of <strong>2,268 passenger cars and 5,880 motorcycles<\/strong> belonging to rental companies will be allowed, thus maintaining the same limit as in 2024. <\/p>\n<h3><strong>3. Restriction dates unchanged<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <strong>period of application of Formentera.eco will remain in force from June 1 to September 30<\/strong>, with no changes with respect to previous years.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>4. Regulated fees and mandatory minimum payment<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Councilor for Mobility, Ver\u00f3nica Castell\u00f3, has proposed <strong>maintaining the current rates<\/strong> for the entry of vehicles to the island: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>July and August<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Cars:<\/strong> 9 \u20ac per day, with a minimum of <strong>45 \u20ac<\/strong> per stay.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Motorcycles:<\/strong> \u20ac4.50 per day, with a minimum of <strong>\u20ac22.50<\/strong> per stay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>June and September<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Cars:<\/strong> 6 \u20ac per day, with a minimum of <strong>30 \u20ac<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Motorcycles:<\/strong> 3 \u20ac per day, with a minimum of <strong>15 \u20ac<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These amounts seek to <strong>discourage short-term stays<\/strong>, as a <strong>decrease in the number of single-day bookings<\/strong> was detected in 2024, from <strong>32% in 2023 to 18% in 20<\/strong>24.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>5. Occupancy and penalty data in 2024<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Last year&#8217;s Formentera.eco report revealed that <strong>on 39 days 100% of the permitted quota of cars was reached<\/strong>, while <strong>on 58 days occupancy was 47.5%.<\/strong> Only <strong>during 25 days the occupancy rate was below 20%<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>In the case of motorcycles, maximum occupancy <strong>ranged from 75% to 99% on 25 days<\/strong>, and was <strong>between 50% and 75% on 47 days<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, <strong>65,102 access requests<\/strong> were registered, of which <strong>3,320 were denied<\/strong>, and <strong>3,792 disciplinary proceedings were processed<\/strong> for non-compliance with regulations.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_84958\" meeting<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Castell\u00f3 has already conveyed these options to the car rental companies<\/strong>, and the final decision on which regulatory model will be adopted in 2025
