These authorizations may be extended until 2028. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2024\/10\/20\/el-futuro-del-taxi-en-ibiza-santa-eularia-se-adelanta-al-estudio-del-govern-y-prepara-su-propio-plan-de-estacionales\/\">The future of cabs in Ibiza: Santa Eul\u00e0ria anticipates the Govern&#8217;s study and prepares its own seasonal plan<\/a><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The document establishes that the licenses will be granted in <strong>two annual shifts<\/strong> to ensure greater coverage. The first one will run from <strong>April 12 to September 12<\/strong>, while the second one will be in force from <strong>May 20 to October 20.<\/strong> In the event that at least <strong>70% of the planned licenses (54 cabs)<\/strong> are not covered, a single shift will be activated and will operate from April to October.  <\/p>\n<h3><strong>Why are temporary licenses being extended?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>According to the City Council, the plan responds to the need to <strong>adjust the supply of cabs to the high seasonal demand<\/strong>, especially in the summer months, when the massive arrival of visitors <strong>saturates the public transport service<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>mobility study<\/strong> conducted by the consulting firm <strong>Tema Ingenier\u00eda<\/strong> concluded that the current number of cabs is insufficient during high season, which has favored the growth of <strong>unregulated transportation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The analysis also found that waiting times in peak months exceed the recommended standards, which affects the experience of both residents and tourists. An <strong>increase in temporary licenses<\/strong> would <strong>optimize coverage<\/strong> and <strong>prevent the proliferation of unauthorized services<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2024\/08\/31\/arranca-en-ibiza-el-estudio-que-determinara-a-traves-de-encuestas-a-residentes-y-turistas-el-numero-ideal-de-taxis-y-vtc\/\">The study that will determine the ideal number of cabs and VTCs through surveys to residents and tourists starts in Ibiza.<\/a><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>How many licenses will be granted and how will they be distributed?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The plan provides for a total of <strong>76 temporary licenses<\/strong>, which will be distributed among <strong>ordinary license holders<\/strong> and <strong>salaried drivers<\/strong>. <strong>Seventy percent of the permits (53) will be assigned to cab drivers with municipal licenses<\/strong>, while the <strong>remaining 30% (23) will be for salaried drivers.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>Access to these licenses shall be determined on the basis of <strong>seniority and experience<\/strong> of the applicants. In the event of a tie, <strong>a public lottery<\/strong> will be held. <\/p>\n<p>To qualify for these temporary authorizations, applicants must comply with a series of <strong>administrative and technical requirements<\/strong>. All vehicles must be <strong>white, with a capacity of up to nine seats<\/strong>, have <strong>ECO or ZERO label<\/strong> (for five-seater cars) and be equipped with <strong>taximeter, GPS and light signal<\/strong>. In addition, the successful bidders must <strong>make a deposit of 1,000 euros<\/strong>, which will be reimbursed at the end of the contract if they comply with the established conditions.  <\/p>\n<h3><strong>Start of the application process<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Interested parties may submit their applications from the <strong>day following the official publication of the plan<\/strong>, having <strong>ten calendar days<\/strong> to register at the <strong>City Council of Santa Eul\u00e0ria des Riu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The provisional list of those admitted will be published once the selection process has been completed. Subsequently, a period for <strong>allegations and correction of errors<\/strong> will be opened, after which the <strong>definitive list of successful candidates<\/strong> will be approved. <\/p>\n<h3><strong>Service control and inspection reinforcement<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The City Council has announced that it will reinforce <strong>inspections and controls<\/strong> to ensure that cabs <strong>comply with the regulations<\/strong> and avoid the activity of unauthorized vehicles.
