This is the third outage in less than a week, affecting essential services and generating frustration among the operator&#8217;s customers. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/lavozdeibiza.com\/actualidad\/2025\/02\/05\/ibiza-mejora-su-conectividad-sant-joan-estrenara-nueva-torre-de-telecomunicaciones-en-verano\/?swcfpc=1\">Ibiza improves its connectivity: Sant Joan will inaugurate a new telecommunications tower in summer<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>A recurring problem with no solution in sight<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The incident had already been detected last Sunday, Monday and Wednesday, but Movistar and O2 still do not offer a clear explanation as to its origin.  <strong>On the company&#8217;s forums, the problem was acknowledged at 18:48 on Friday, but six hours later it had still not been fixed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The failure seems to be related to the resolution of routes between the Telef\u00f3nica network and the IP addresses of the websites hosted on CloudFlare. This has caused a multitude of sites to be inaccessible to Movistar users, including <em>La Voz de Ibiza<\/em>, which has been affected by the incident. <\/p>\n<h2><strong>Censorship or technical error?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In the absence of an official response, various theories have emerged as to the cause of the problem.  <strong>Some experts point to a technical failure in Movistar&#8217;s infrastructure, while others say it could be an intentional blocking of illegal soccer broadcasting websites.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, the crashes have coincided with days on which important matches have been played, which has led to speculation that the operator may have restricted access to certain IPs, mistakenly affecting legitimate websites that share the same network protection service.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Alternatives to avoid blockage<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>While the problem remains unresolved, some users have resorted to VPNs (virtual private networks) to circumvent the restriction and access blocked sites. These tools make it possible to establish a connection from an external network and bypass the filters imposed by Internet providers. <\/p>\n<p>From <em>La Voz de Ibiza<\/em> we regret the inconvenience caused to our readers and apologize for the access problems caused by this incident.
