The facts date back to the end of September, when an Italian citizen was accosted in broad daylight in the middle of the street by three assailants who got out of a vehicle and began to brutally beat him. According to police sources, the assailants tried to put the victim in the trunk of the car, but did not succeed in the kidnapping thanks to the man’s screams and the intervention of several witnesses, who immediately alerted the emergency services.

As a result of the aggression, the victim suffered multiple cuts and a nasal fracture, for which he had to receive medical attention.

The investigation was undertaken by the Specialized and Violent Crime Unit (UDEV) of the National Police Station in Ibiza, whose agents carried out an extensive work of collecting testimonies, surveillance, consultations in national and international databases and other police procedures. As a result of these actions, the three alleged perpetrators were fully identified and the corresponding search and arrest warrants were issued.

One of the investigated was located this Monday in Barcelona by a patrol of the Mossos d’Esquadra. After verifying that he had a valid complaint, the agents of the Judicial Police Brigade of the National Police in the Catalan capital processed his arrest.

The arrestee has already been brought to court, while the National Police continues to work to locate the other two people involved in the kidnapping attempt.
