]]>As regards breaking and entering, understood as the entry of intruders into homes where their owners or tenants reside, cases have almost doubled compared to the previous year. Up to November, 43 offenses have been recorded, compared to 25 in the same period last year. This type of infraction, as it directly affects inhabited dwellings, is usually processed as a priority and can be resolved immediately, with economic sanctions which, in accordance with the Penal Code, range between 300 and 400 euros, depending on the circumstances of the case, according to IB3.

For its part, the usurpation of dwellings, which occurs when a property is occupied where the owner does not reside, has also experienced a significant increase. Up to November 13, 107 complaints have been filed, a figure that already exceeds by six cases the total registered during the whole of the previous year. To this balance will have to be added, in addition, the possible complaints made in the last weeks of the year, which could further increase the final tally.
In relation to evictions for non-payment of rent, a situation that occurs when the tenant stops paying the rent and does not leave the dwelling, up to November 15, 285 judicial evictions have been carried out. The previous year closed with 50 more evictions, although from the judicial sphere it is recalled that the current year has not yet ended and that the difference could be reduced before the end of the period.
The dean judge of Ibiza, Sergio González, has pointed out to IB3 that all these procedures are among the priorities of the judicial bodies of the island. As he has indicated, both housing-related crimes and evictions for non-payment are tried to be expedited and resolved as quickly as possible, along with other matters of special social relevance, such as cases of child abuse and gender violence.
