La entrada Triguero vindicates the Constitution as a guarantee of freedom, equality and coexistence in Ibiza se publicó primero en La Voz De Ibiza.
]]>Before the island director, the president of the Consell, the vice-president of the Govern, other mayors, authorities, entities and associations, Triguero has claimed the values that frame the Magna Carta and its essential role in democratic coexistence.
The mayor defended that this is a day to «value freedom, equality and dignity, but also participation, protection against discrimination and opportunities for everyone», and stressed that these principles «should not remain in words, but should be lived every day».
Triguero recalled that December 6 is a date that «serves to remind us of where we come from and to value the importance of continuing to move forward together with respect and willingness to dialogue,» noting that the Constitution opened a stage of democracy and freedoms that remains fundamental today .
In his speech, the Mayor focused on the social and protective nature of the Constitution. He pointed out that «the Constitution is not just a set of rules; it is a commitment to human rights, the rights of all» and recalled that it guarantees «freedom of expression, the right to education, to health, to work…».
According to him, the constitutional text «teaches us that we all have the same value» and provides a common framework to protect people against discrimination and guarantee opportunities.
Triguero also made special mention of the island’s natural and cultural heritage, linking its protection with constitutional values.
«Ibiza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an example of history and culture that we must preserve. Protecting it is a duty to the generations to come,» he said, claiming the collective responsibility to care for the environment and the identity of the city.
The mayor of Eivissa used his speech to defend the role of the local administration as the institution closest to the citizens.
He pointed out that «with proximity and humility, every step we take reflects that commitment to coexistence that inspired the drafters of the Magna Carta», linking the daily work of the City Council to the principles of dialogue, respect and public service .
Triguero closed his speech by thanking the work of all the people and groups that contribute to the functioning and progress of society. «I want to thank all the people (…) to make this country a more just, dignified and supportive place», he concluded, in a call to defend the Constitution from the daily practice and not only from the symbolism of the ephemeris.

]]>Marí defended that the Constitution should not be just a text to commemorate once a year, but «a living and present tool that guarantees rights, freedoms and equal opportunities» and that should serve as a framework to respond to the challenges facing Ibiza.
In his speech, the President stressed that the Magna Carta continues to be «a social pact of values, pluralism and respect» and that the principles contained in its Preamble act as «a necessary compass to guarantee coexistence, social and economic progress and the quality of life of citizens».
At this point, Mar alluded expressly to the situation in Ibiza, marked by the generalized rise in prices, the difficulty of access to decent housing and the migratory pressure on the territory and services. Problems that, he said, should be addressed from the spirit of the Constitution and not from confrontation.
The president highlighted the work of the Social Dialogue Board, in which employers and unions «sit down with the will to reach an agreement for the benefit of all Ibizan citizens, making the constitutional spirit of dialogue and coexistence a reality».
In his opinion, this space is an example of how to apply the Constitution to the day-to-day life of the island, seeking consensual solutions to improve the living conditions of residents and move towards «a freer and fairer society and island».
Marí also wanted to vindicate the validity of two specific articles of the Magna Carta: Article 20, which protects freedom of expression and information, and Article 28, which recognizes freedom of association.
Regarding the former, he warned of the impact of social networks and polarization, which often «go against the constitutional spirit», and defended that «a well-informed society is a society capable of deciding, debating and respecting disagreement».
As for freedom of association, he described it as «an essential means of defending workers and a fair distribution of the fruits of progress», especially in an economic context such as that of Ibiza.
The President recalled that, although in these 48 years society has changed profoundly, «the will for freedom and future that makes our Constitution valuable has been maintained».
At the same time, he warned that the Magna Carta «does not include the temptation to break the shared ground that sustains our diversity» and called to avoid polarization, because «democracy is built among all, above any juncture or ideology».
Marí concluded that the Constitution «gives us rights, but it also asks us for responsibility: to listen, respect, dialogue, comply with the law and move forward with consensus» and affirmed that «defending it every day is the best tribute we can pay it», especially in a territory like Ibiza, where the great social and economic challenges require broad and stable agreements.

]]>La entrada Mercadona’s December long weekend opening hours: when and where to shop se publicó primero en La Voz De Ibiza.
]]>The Constitution Day holiday will not hinder commercial activity in Madrid, although supermarkets have adapted their schedules to meet the increased demand for the long weekend without affecting the rest of their staff.
These are the confirmed slots for this Saturday, December 6, according to each network:
Mercadona: open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; closed Sunday 7 and Monday 8.
Lidl: general opening hours from 9:00 to 21:00 (with possible variations per store).
DIA: most stores will be open regular hours, also on Monday 8.
Carrefour: hypermarkets and supermarkets open until 22:00; Carrefour Express, until approximately 15:00.
With these differences between chains and establishments, companies recommend checking the specific hours of each store before traveling, especially on a long weekend that concentrates one of the largest commercial influxes prior to Christmas.

Some chains have opted for more flexible opening hours for this long weekend. Aldi will incorporate reduced openings (approximately from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm) in certain stores. Stores such as the one located in Fuencarral will extend their opening hours until 22:00 hours, but not all will follow this pattern, so individual consultation is essential.
Meanwhile, El Corte Inglés, Hipercor and Supercor will operate normally on December 6, maintaining their 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. slot, both on Saturday and Monday.
At Ahorramás, Saturday opening will be limited to its typical holiday opening hours: from 9:00 to 15:00. Meanwhile, Alcampo will open most of its centers, although with different schedules depending on the establishment, which is why they refer to their official website to confirm each address.
Froiz, on the other hand, has decided to close most of its stores on Constitution Day.
The combination of the beginning of December, the long weekend and the proximity of Christmas makes these days one of the busiest shopping times of the year. For this reason, all the chains agree on one recommendation: check the updated schedules on their digital platforms beforehand.
Although most supermarkets in Madrid will be open on Saturday, December 6, there are significant differences depending on the chain, location or store format. Checking the opening hours before you go can help you avoid queues, unnecessary waiting or unexpected closures in the middle of the holiday.
