]]>In total, the Foundation has trained 759 students in the Balearic Islands since records began in the 2011/2012 academic year. Of the total, 581 did their internships in Mallorca and 178 in Ibiza, distributed in the residences and centers of the public network.
On the island, the practices have been developed in Can Raspalls (Ibiza), Can Blai (Santa Eulària) and Sa Serra (Sant Antoni), while in Mallorca they were carried out in Son Güells, Son Tugores, Son Llebre and the occupational center Sa Riera, in Palma.
Last year saw the highest number of students on internships at the Foundation’s centers, with 93 students, which is 20% more than the previous year and an increase of 220% over five years ago, more than three times as many as five years ago.
From the Conselleria they have emphasized that the training in practices constitutes a way of access to the labor market in this sector. As an example, at the Son Güells residence and day center (Palma), of the 36 female students on practical training as socio-sanitary technicians in the last two courses, eight have ended up joining the staff.
Among the university degrees, most of the students came from Nursing (152 students), followed by Physiotherapy (109). Students from Psychology (26) and Social Work (15), among others, also participated.
In Vocational Training, the following courses stand out: Auxiliary Nursing Care (229 students) and Care for people in a situation of dependency (150 students).
In addition, in recent years, students have been incorporated into master’s degree courses, such as General Health Psychology and Mental Health Rehabilitation, and courses in Social and Health Care in Social Institutions.
The Foundation’s objective is to reinforce the quality of care in dependency care services, guaranteeing qualified professionals in the face of the demographic and social challenges of the archipelago. To this end, it maintains agreements with socio-health centers and promotes specialization in areas such as dependency, mental health, social intervention and labor integration.

]]>La entrada In Ibiza, waiting time for dependency services decreases while applications increase se publicó primero en La Voz De Ibiza.
]]>In fact, according to figures updated to October 2025 that the Govern has given to La Voz de Ibiza, there are currently 455 people on the island on the waiting list (284 pending assessment and 171 of the individualized care plan), compared to the 530 registered in May 2023. This represents a reduction of 14%, in a period where applications have increased by 17.7% (from 3,510 to 4,131).
The system has significantly increased the number of people served in Ibiza. Between May 2023 and October 2025, the following increases are recorded:
Teleassistance: from 901 to 1,525 users(+70 %)
Socio-health care: from 1,905 to 2,387(+25 %)
Day center: from 133 to 164(+23.3 %)
Home help (SAD): from 88 to 118(+34 %)
Residences: from 362 to 391 persons served(+8 %)
The Regional Ministry explains that the system has adapted to the increased demand and that the improvement plans have had positive results.
The positive trend is also reflected in the most sensitive services. By October 2025:
101 people were waiting for a place in residence, compared to 137 in May 2023.
In the day centers, the waiting list is 30 people.
The social services area assures that these figures are directly related to the expansion of places in infrastructures already operating on the island.
The socialist group of Ibiza stated that waiting lists had increased by 23% in the last two years, with 403 people waiting for care in July. It also criticized the Govern and the Consell for not promoting the planned residence in Sant Josep or executing the transfer of competences approved by the Parliament.
However, official data show the opposite: there are no more people waiting, but 75 less than in 2023. The Government stresses that the system has responded to the increase in demand by expanding coverage, and denies that there is a situation of collapse.

]]>The renewal incorporates a price update that will come into effect on June 1, 2025, designed to compensate for the higher cost of providing the service in Ibiza. Until now, the tariff was «insufficient to cover actual costs,» Costa said.
With the adjustment, the maximum price per seat will increase from €119.04 to €121.52 as of June 1, 2026.
The Govern stresses that this tariff revision aims to guarantee the sustainability of the dependency care system and ensure the continuity of services on the island. To this end, the entities must prove the payment of supplements linked to personnel, building and rent, especially determining factors in Ibiza.
