There is a precedent last year of a fire in a tent of these characteristics, precisely, also, in Sant Josep. It was in April, in the area of Puig d’en Cardona. In the place, considered Protected Rustic Land and Natural Area of Special Interest of High Level of Protection, a yurt-type tent of large dimensions was found; it had a wood stove and a wooden construction that served as a kitchen equipped with light and gas (gas bottles) and an annex of the same material as a bathroom. The inhabitant of the place was charged with an alleged crime of arson and another against land management. The owner of the land was also charged for an alleged crime against land management.

]]>This new equipment is specially designed to operate in different configurations according to the needs of each season of the year or type of service to be performed, allowing a more efficient response to various emergencies. The vehicle is equipped with a complete fire extinguishing system with a capacity of 600 liters, a winch with a towing capacity of up to 5,500 kg and a tow ball. It also has a first aid kit, a defibrillator, a Tetra communications system and a tablet with 5G connectivity that allows incident-related information to be managed in real time, directly from the scene.
This new vehicle reinforces the group’s fleet, which currently has five vehicles and four motorcycles. The group, which is made up of 50 members, plans to incorporate four new volunteers this year, which will allow it to continue optimizing its emergency response. Throughout this year, the actions of the Civil Protection group have been diverse, highlighting its active participation in the recent Dana de Valencia. From the first moments of the emergency, the Civil Protection volunteers have collaborated in the search for victims, in the cleaning tasks and in the delivery of school material and toys to the affected areas. In addition, the group has provided support in the security of events, in the activities of the Festes de Nadal program, and in the prevention and extinguishing of fires, among many other interventions.
«This new vehicle is an example of the constant effort of the City Council of Sant Antoni to provide the volunteers of the Civil Protection group with the most advanced means to ensure greater safety and a faster and more efficient response in emergency situations,» raised from the consistory.
