The UD Ibiza started the sporting year this Sunday with a goalless draw against Recreativo de Huelva in the 19th round of the Primera RFEF. Despite generating multiple clear chances, the team coached by Paco Jémez found an inspired Gálvez, goalkeeper of the Huelva team, who was key to keep his goal unbeaten. From the opening whistle, the locals imposed an overwhelming rhythm. The mobility of López-Pinto, one of the winter signings, added to the dynamism of Eugeni and Doménech, set the tone for an Ibiza team that insistently sought to open the scoring.

However, Recreativo closed well at the back, playing a defensive game and long throws to contain the Ibizan onslaught. The first half showed clear signs of local domination. Eugeni came close to scoring after a shot from close range, while Quique and Gallar also missed clear chances. UD Ibiza’s pressure was constant, but the attempts kept hitting against the wall that Gálvez meant. The second half started with the same intensity. Javi Jiménez and López-Pinto led new arrivals, but the crossbar and the lack of aim added to the local frustration. In the 61st minute, Lopez-Pinto’s powerful shot hit the crossbar, symbolizing the team’s inability to score. Recreativo de Huelva, who had been subdued for most of the game, took advantage of the final minutes to generate danger. Del Pozo had the clearest chance for the visitors, but his cross shot went wide. The last moments of the match were marked by inaccuracies from both teams, as a result of physical exhaustion.

Next match and classification

With this result, the Ibizan team moves partially up to seventh place in the standings. In the next matchday they will be visiting Alcoyano.

The UD Ibiza suffered its first defeat under the direction of Paco Jémez after losing 1-2 against Real Murcia in the framework of the 15th day of the First RFEF. The match, played at the Palladium stadium, was marked by moments of brilliance, strategic decisions and unexpected situations that kept the fans in suspense.

First half: Murcia’s effectiveness and Ibiza’s resistance

From the start, Jémez’s men sought to dominate the game with long possessions, although they came up against a very solid defensive approach by Murcia. The visitors took advantage of their first clear opportunity, with a great shot by Loren Morón from outside the area that opened the scoring in the 15th minute. Bad fortune also accompanied the home team when Jesús Álvarez had to leave the field due to injury, forcing Jémez to make early changes. Despite the initial blow, Ibiza managed to maintain their intensity. Before the break, goalkeeper Álex Belman shone with a spectacular intervention to save a penalty taken by Juan Carlos, allowing the home team to stay alive in the match.

Second half: Frustrated comeback

In the second half, Jémez made three changes in search of a comeback, bringing on Monju, Mo and Pau Ferrer, who injected dynamism into the team. The equalizer came in the 63rd minute thanks to a stroke of genius by Pau Ferrer, who scored a back-heeled goal after a precise pass from Quique. With the score level, the match entered a balanced phase, but the visitors were able to take advantage of one of their few opportunities. In the last minute, Carrillo scored the decisive goal after a lightning counterattack. Ibiza came close to equalizing in stoppage time when Guillem’s header hit the post, but luck was not on their side.

Next match

Jémez will have to work on fine-tuning some aspects for the next match, which will pit them against Ceuta on Sunday, December 8 at the Alfonso Murube stadium.
