The snowstorm that is hitting several European airports has caused this Wednesday the cancellation of two flights at Ibiza airport, both operated by the company Transavia, on the route to Eindhoven (Netherlands).

According to Aena flight information, the cancelled operations are TRA6513, which was scheduled to arrive in Ibiza at 18.45 hours, and TRA6514, which was scheduled to take off from the island at 19.30 hours.

These cancellations come on a day marked by heavy snowfall, ice on runways and intense winds in several parts of northern and central Europe, which is directly affecting air operations and causing cancellations and delays in chain.

Amsterdam, Paris and Brussels at minimum due to snowfall

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is one of the most affected by the winter episode. The Dutch infrastructure has canceled more than 700 flights this Wednesday, and accumulates more than 2,000 operations suppressed since the beginning of the week due to the persistent storm.

Major problems are also being reported at Paris airports, especially at Charles de Gaulle and Orly, where French authorities have reported around 100 cancelled flights at Charles de Gaulle and about 40 at Orly, according to local press.

At Brussels airport, meanwhile, delays are expected throughout the day due to snow removal and de-icing of aircraft, runways and taxiways.

Thawing and snow removal, key to restore normality

Snow removal operations and aircraft de-icing are the main obstacles to the normalization of air activity at the affected aerodromes. In many cases, these tasks force to reduce runway capacity and generate accumulated delays in departures and arrivals, which affects airports connected to these routes, such as Ibiza.

For the time being, further incidents are not ruled out if adverse weather conditions persist during the next few hours.

Ibiza airport will manage 146 flights between Tuesday and Wednesday, in the middle of the Epiphany holiday, according to data from Aena. Of these, 126 will be domestic flights and 20 international, which is just four operations less than the same period last year.

In the Balearic archipelago as a whole, 692 flights will be operated during these two days, which represents a drop of 13.5% compared to the same dates in 2025, when 800 movements were recorded. Aena attributes this difference to the fact that in 2025 Epiphany fell on a Monday, as opposed to Tuesday this year, which reduces the number of long weekend trips.

Despite the general decline in the Balearic Islands, Ibiza hardly notices the setback. The figures show a stability in the island’s air connectivity, especially in a low season period such as January.

Son Sant Joan concentrates the highest traffic

Palma airport will be, as usual, the busiest airport in the Balearic Islands, with 472 scheduled operations, divided between 332 domestic flights and 140 international flights. This represents a reduction of 102 flights compared to the previous year.

For its part, Menorca airport will operate 74 flights during these two days, of which 72 will be domestic and only two international, a decrease of two flights compared to the same period in 2025.

Ibiza airport will close the year 2025 with a total of 60 flights scheduled for this Tuesday, December 31, a figure that reflects the moderation of air traffic on these dates, according to data provided by Aena.

Of the total planned operations, 58 will be domestic flights, while only two will be international connections, confirming the predominance of the domestic market during the winter period on the island.

Air activity will increase at the beginning of the new year. On January 1, 2026, Balearic airports will record a general upturn in operations and, in the archipelago as a whole, 388 flights will pass through, most of them domestic. Although Aena has not yet broken down the detail by airports for that day, the increase responds to the return of travelers after the New Year’s Eve celebrations.

In the Balearic Islands as a whole, 325 flights will operate on the last day of 2025, which is 13 fewer than on the same date the previous year, a drop that is part of the seasonal nature of the winter and the lower tourist activity outside the high season.

A Vueling flight bound for Ibiza declared an air emergency on Monday after taking off from Paris and was forced to divert to the French airport of Clermont-Ferrand, according to an aviation profile on Facebook. The aircraft landed safely and the usual protocols were activated by airport authorities.

According to information published by the specialized website Aviación Mundial, flight VY6936, which had departed from Paris to Ibiza airport, emitted the emergency code squawk 7700, a signal used in aviation to alert air traffic controllers of a critical situation. At that time, the causes of the incident had not been clarified.

The plane landed at Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne airport, a regional airport located in central France, some 420 kilometers south of Paris, which has a runway suitable for commercial operations and is regularly used as an alternative airport for diversions due to technical or meteorological incidents. Its location makes it a frequent point for safety landings of flights from the French capital.

Passengers relocated

According to Periódico de Ibiza, Vueling confirmed that the incident was due to a technical problem, which forced to interrupt the flight shortly after take-off. The aforementioned media reported that the passengers would be relocated to another plane to continue their trip to Ibiza.

The airline has not publicly detailed the specific nature of the technical failure, although it has stressed that the landing was carried out normally and without personal injury, in line with the safety procedures established for this type of situation.

The incident affected a flight scheduled to arrive in Ibiza in the middle of the busy season, when the island’s airport has an intense traffic of international connections, especially with France and other European countries.

The implementation in Ibiza is still pending schedule.

British tourists traveling to the Balearic Islands will face from this week a new procedure at the border. The Entry and Exit System (SES), activated by the European Union on October 12, will start operating this Tuesday at Menorca airport, within the schedule of staggered implementation in the Member States.

The SES is an automated computerized system designed to record the entry and exit of citizens from third countries that are not part of the European agreement on free movement into and out of the Schengen Area. This new model replaces the traditional passport stamp and collects digital information such as document data, photo, fingerprints and date and place of border crossing.

According to the planned schedule, full implementation of the system is scheduled for April 10, 2026.

Palma to implement SES on November 19 and Ibiza still without date

The British ambassador to Spain, Alex Ellis, explained to the Majorca Daily Bulletin that SES «has begun to be introduced in Spain, but will be implemented over a six-month period». «Madrid airport was the first to implement it on October 12 and only for a limited number of passengers. Menorca will do it on November 4 and Palma on November 19, while Ibiza still has no confirmed date,» he detailed.

The system is also being implemented progressively in other Spanish airports and in countries such as France, Germany, Greece, Italy and Portugal. The only EU states that will not apply the SES rules are Ireland and Cyprus.

A registration valid for three years

According to information provided by the British embassy, the SES digital record will be valid for three years. This means that if a tourist re-enters the Schengen Area within that period, he or she will only need to provide a fingerprint or photo, without the need to re-do the full registration.

Ambassador Ellis stressed that the UK, which brought 18.4 million visitors to Spain last year, is in constant dialogue with the Spanish authorities to ensure that the transition to the new system goes smoothly.

«There is a great interest on the Spanish side to make it work properly, and in fact, they were ready. The delays are due to other countries that were not yet ready,» he said.

Ibiza Airport is carrying out this Wednesday an emergency drill, as part of the periodic exercises organized by Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea (AENA) to evaluate the capacity of response and coordination in critical situations.

During the day, several users and residents in the vicinity of the airport will be able to observe smoke and a deployment of fire vehicles, ambulances and emergency personnel, which generated some concern among those who were unaware of the operation. The action is being carried out at different airports.

Aena, through its official channels, launched a message of tranquility to clarify the situation: «If you see smoke and emergency equipment at Ibiza Airport, do not be alarmed. A drill is being carried out.»

Safety and coordination exercise

The drill is part of the safety protocols required by international regulations, which oblige airports to carry out this type of practice on a regular basis. The objective is to test the coordination between the different emergency services -airport firefighters, medical personnel, Civil Guard, National Police and AENA operators- as well as the effectiveness of evacuation and rescue procedures in the event of a plane crash or other serious incident.

These actions allow us to detect possible areas for improvement and ensure that, in the event of a real emergency, the response is fast, safe and effective.

A group of FC Barcelona fans have denounced the theft of their luggage while they were traveling in Ibiza, losing among their belongings several recently purchased team shirts. Through social networks, they have asked for help to bring their case to the authorities or to the club itself, in the hope of recovering their belongings.

A robbery in the middle of a trip and lost T-shirts

As they explained on X (formerly Twitter), the Barça fans were in Ibiza when they suffered the theft of their suitcases, where they kept with special affection the Barça jerseys they had just acquired. In their publication, they directly mentioned @FCBarcelona_es, @JoanLaportaFCB and several supporters’ clubs, hoping that the message would go viral and reach the right hands.

«Our suitcases were stolen in Ibiza and inside were our Barça jerseys, can you help us make this tweet viral so that it reaches the right people?» they wrote in their first message, accompanied by images showing them wearing the blaugrana apparel.

In a second tweet, they insisted on their appeal to the culé community: «We had just bought them after much effort and we have no means to get others. Twitter, do your magic, please».

Reactions and possible responses

The publication has begun to gain traction in networks, with several users showing solidarity and sharing the message so that it reaches FC Barcelona or possible witnesses of the theft. So far, the club has not issued any official response, although it is not ruled out that, given the repercussion of the case, it may offer some kind of gesture to the affected fans.

On the other hand, no details have been given as to whether those affected have filed a complaint with the National Police or the Civil Guard. In Ibiza, luggage theft in airports or tourist areas is a recurring problem, so visitors are advised to always keep their belongings under supervision and report any incident as soon as possible.

A case that could add culé support

While fans wait for a solution, the impact of their story on networks continues to grow. It would not be the first time that FC Barcelona or other sports institutions have responded to a viral case like this with some kind of action.

It remains to be seen whether the Culé community, the club or any entity in Ibiza can offer a solution to these fans who, after an unfortunate experience on the island, rely on the power of the networks to recover at least part of what they have lost.

The Ibiza airport has launched a new charging system for electric vehicles with the installation of 24 double chargers distributed in its different parking lots. With this measure, 48 vehicles can be recharged at the same time, making this point the largest on the island in terms of charging infrastructure.

As reported by Aena in a statement, the chargers have been strategically installed in the parking areas of the airport complex. In detail, 26 chargers have been placed in the general parking, with 14 in P1 North and 12 in P1 South; 18 in the long-stay parking, and 4 in the E1 area, intended exclusively for workers.

Charging system operation and rates

Each charger has a QR code that allows users to download the AenaEV application, through which they can register their vehicle, select the charging point and program the time and power of the recharge. Once loading is complete, the system automatically stops the supply and unlocks the hose.

The service is not free and rates vary between 0.27 €/KWh and 0.40 €/KWh, depending on the type of load and with special conditions for airport employees. All information on prices and availability of charging points is available on the AenaEV app.

Commitment to sustainable mobility

This initiative is part of the Ibiza airport’s sustainability plan, with the aim of promoting electric mobility and reducing carbon emissions. Aena has emphasized that the measure is part of its decarbonization and energy efficiency strategy, promoting the use of clean energies in its facilities.

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is seeking to update the Noise Action Plan for Ibiza airport and works on mitigation measures. and works on mitigation measures.

In October 2024, the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility published the Noise Action Plan for Ibiza Airport, jointly by Aena, Aesa and Enaire, based on the update of the Ibiza Airport Strategic Noise Map, which had been prepared with traffic data for the year 2021. The main objective of the Plan is to establish the necessary measures to «reduce the environmental noise produced by airport operations and thereby achieve a reduction in the population exposed to it, in addition to preserving quiet areas, contributing to achieving the European reduction targets established for the 2030 horizon in the action plan for zero pollution,» as detailed. In general terms, it has four lines of action: «Reduction of noise at the source; Planning and Management of land use; Operational procedures for noise attenuation; and Other measures of Commitment to the environment». This plan has been submitted to public information, sending it for consultation to the various public administrations. Therefore, from the General Directorate of Urban Harmonization and Environmental Assessment of the Govern has responded to this consultation with a series of technical considerations on the Ministry’s plan. This response from the Govern’s environmental body to the Ministry’s consultation does not include any request, but rather evaluates different possibilities within a study of alternatives. There it is proposed to «study/analyze» the possibility of establishing operational restrictions, such as limiting the access of the noisiest aircraft or not allowing these aircraft to operate at night. The Department of Housing, Territory and Mobility has clarified to La Voz de Ibiza that «it is not as such a request to adopt such measures but to analyze them, along with the other measures proposed, in order to reduce noise impacts, as intended by the Ministry. These are technical considerations to minimize the effects, but always ensuring the connectivity of residents«. The possibility of operating restrictions due to noise has been raised at a general level by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), as a last alternative «if other noise reduction measures have not been successful», as stated in the Ministry’s plan, which also specifies that «it is not foreseen that operating restrictions will be implemented for Phase IV with a 2028 horizon«.

The Ministry’s Plan recalls that «Ibiza airport has in force a noise tax system in order to discourage the use of the noisiest aircraft, by applying penalties on the amount of the landing fee for civil subsonic jet aircraft, depending on the time slot, and the acoustic classification of each aircraft». In this sense, it highlights that «this measure has promoted the renewal of the fleet since its implementation, however, the evolution of the fleet and the time elapsed since its implementation make it currently ineffective, since the aircraft that are penalized practically do not operate at the airport today». Therefore, among the allegations made in the technical considerations, the Government states that «it could study/analyze the establishment of operational restrictions due to noise at Ibiza airport, both in limiting the access of certain aircraft (the noisiest ones) to the airport and reducing its operational capacity (not allowing them to operate at night)«. On the other hand, the current system stipulates that «standard STAR CORDA1S, TOLSO2S, VARUT2Y noise attenuation arrivals», avoiding overflight of the interior of the island, should preferably be carried out at night. In this sense, the Noise Action Plan suggests maintaining this practice and integrating it into the planned awareness campaigns, aimed at both airlines and air traffic controllers. However, the Balearic Government, in its document of allegations, proposes extending this measure to daytime hours at times of low demand.

Its paradisiacal beaches and coves, its cultural heritage and nightlife, among many other things, make Ibiza one of the main tourist destinations in Spain and the world. That is why in 2024 alone more than 4.5 million people arrived on the island through Ibiza Airport, a number that represents an increase of 1.51% compared to 2023. From which countries do more visitors arrive?

Exactly 4,531,856 passengers arrived by plane to Ibiza in the course of the year 2024, compared to 4,464,295 in the previous year. In December, the last available data, there were 119,330 arrivals, 2.55% more in the interannual comparison. Of course, most of the arrivals come from other cities in Spain, but the island also receives a large influx of international tourism.

Where are the tourists coming to Ibiza from?

At the top of the table is, by far, the United Kingdom: last year 922,608 Britons arrived on the island of Ibiza and Formentera. Although this is a significant figure and there was an increase in total arrivals, this figure represents a drop of 0.32% when compared to 2023. In the last month of the year, visitors from the same place were 2,567, or 5.07% less year-on-year. Other European countries such as Italy (457,766), Germany (352,547), Holland (282,030) and France (209,802) are further behind as the main emitters of tourists to Ibiza, all of them, except the Dutch nation, with increases in the annual accumulated. The strongest increase was that of Ireland, which between 2023 and 2024 went from 24,505 to 39,075 travelers arriving on the island: 59.46% more precisely. At the other extreme, Poland, Denmark, Hungary, Finland and Sweden show the strongest declines.

Ibiza airport ended 2024 with worrying figures in terms of punctuality, ranking as the airport with the second highest rate of delays and cancellations in Spain. According to AirHelp‘s annual report, 31% of passengers flying from the island experienced disruptions, making it one of the most problematic airports in the country. Palma airport tops the list with 35% of travelers affected, equivalent to more than 5.5 million people out of the nearly 16 million who used its facilities. Both figures reflect the impact of an airline management that is failing to keep pace with growing demand.

A shrinking national landscape

In Spain, during 2024, around one million flights and 145 million passengers were recorded. Although these figures show a recovery compared to 2023, with an increase of 80,000 flights and eight million passengers, punctuality suffered a notable deterioration. The disruption rate rose from 24% in 2023 to 26% in 2024, a trend that continues to move away from the 22% recorded in 2022. The increase in disruptions will allow some 2.25 million passengers to claim compensation from airlines for disruptions suffered this year.

Summer, the epicenter of incidents

The summer months, especially June, July and September, saw the most problems at Spanish airports. July 19 was the day with the most incidents due to a global crash of AENA’s operating system, which affected 70% of scheduled flights. Another critical date was July 1, with 55% of interruptions coinciding with the start of the high season.

Romanian airline Animawings has announced a new direct connection between Bucharest (Romania) and Ibiza (Spain), which will be its third Spanish destination after Gran Canaria and Palma de Mallorca. Flights will start on June 5, 2025 and will be operational until September 28, 2025, with a frequency of two flights per week (Thursdays and Sundays).

This is the second time that Ibiza has a direct connection with Romania. The first time the link was provided by Blue Air, a low-cost airline that operated at the airport of es Codolar during the 2022 season, year in which it ceased operations.

Operation details

  • Aircraft used: Airbus A220-300, configured for 137 passengers, including 12 business class seats.
  • Total weekly capacity to Ibiza: 274 seats.

Other routes to Spain

With the addition of Ibiza, Animawings consolidates its offer between Romania and Spain. Routes for the 2025 summer season include:

  1. From Bucharest/Otopeni:
    • Gran Canaria (LPA): One flight per week (Tuesdays) from June 10 to September 30.
  2. From Timișoara:
    • Palma de Mallorca (PMI): One flight per week (Thursdays) from June 12 to September 25.

In total, the airline will offer 548 seats per week between Romania and Spain, making it the only airline that will connect the three Spanish destinations with Romania during the summer season.

About Animawings

Founded in 2019, Animawings is part of the Memento Group tourism group. Between 2021 and 2024, the airline was supported by Aegean Airlines, which participated as a shareholder, and operated under wet-lease agreements using Aegean and Dan Airbus A320ceo aircraft. Currently, Animawings connects six Romanian airports with leisure and beach destinations in countries such as Cyprus, United Arab Emirates, Spain, France, Greece, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the United Arab Emirates. With the expansion to Ibiza, it reaffirms its focus on offering connections to major European tourist destinations. This announcement underlines the airline’s strategic growth in the Spanish market and reinforces its commitment to leisure tourism between Romania and Europe.

Ibiza airport has scheduled for this Tuesday, December 24, a total of 58 flights, according to the schedule published by Aena. This figure reflects a stable activity within the context of the Christmas holidays, where the total number of planned operations amounts to 1,434 movements, representing an increase of 1.2% compared to the same period last year.

The busiest day at Ibiza airport will be next Friday, December 27, with 97 flights scheduled, which is expected to be a peak within the holiday schedule. In the Balearic Islands airports as a whole, 317 flights are scheduled for December 24, which represents a 22% drop compared to the equivalent day last year. However, this drop is explained by the fact that the Tuesday of the Christmas holidays last year fell on December 26, a traditionally busier date. Globally, between December 20 and January 7, Balearic airports will handle a total of 8,060 flights, marking a growth of 9.8% over the same period last year. At Palma airport, 5,910 operations are planned, 10.2% more than last holiday season. Friday 20 was the busiest day at Son Sant Joan, with 370 flights scheduled, 2.5% more than the first Friday of the holidays last year, which fell on December 22. At Menorca airport, scheduled flights totaled 716, up 27.4%. At Mahón airport the busiest day will be next Sunday, December 22, with 48 take-offs and landings.

A series of drawings placed on the dynamic advertising screens in the baggage reclaim area of the Ibiza airport unleashed in recent hours the discomfort of many Ibizans, who expressed their indignation on social networks denouncing the falsity of the images.

These images, which showed a distorted version of Dalt Vila, with a minimized cathedral, reduced Renaissance walls and a set of unrepresentative buildings, did not reflect the architectural reality of the city. That is why, before the anger of users, the City Council of Ibiza has communicated with the company NBMedia, manager of the advertising space (and also advertises in other airports such as Palma and Barcelona), to ask them to be removed, a fact that materialized on Friday afternoon. The councilman of Tourism, Rubén Sousa, explained to La Voz de Ibiza that the illustrations were a «collage» made by the company, which he considered «ill-advised». «They are the same images that are placed in the airport of Palma, Barcelona and others managed by the same company. I have contacted them and they have quickly agreed to remove them, by 4 o’clock in the afternoon they were gone,» he said. According to Sousa, from the company «they have apologized and have clarified that at no time wanted to hurt anyone’s sensibility. They have been very cooperative and have immediately removed them». In addition, the councilman emphasized that, although he knew the images, «it is true that they were not the most appropriate or representative».

Outrage in social networks

Criticism intensified on social networks, where users denounced that these unrealistic images did not do justice to the historical and cultural heritage of the city. The vice-president of GEN, Neus Prats, was one of the most visible voices demanding explanations and immediate measures.

«Someone should give a lot of explanations and someone outside should return a lot of money (I want to know how much) PUBLIC, for having put these FALSE images, made with AI of ‘Ibiza’ at the airport. Who is #Nbmmedia? For whom does it collect?», he reproached in his X account.

For its part, the City Council emphasized to this media the company’s collaboration in resolving the incident without delay.

The Ibiza Airport has closed the month of November with an outstanding increase in activity, registering 251,253 passengers, which represents an increase of 5.6% over the same month of the previous year. This figure reaffirms the importance of the facilities as a strategic point for the island’s national and international connectivity. Of the passengers registered, 251,040 used commercial flights, with 216,626 travelers on domestic connections, representing a growth of 3.6%. However, the most significant increase was observed on international flights, which reached 34,414 passengers, 20.4% more than in November 2023. The Netherlands led international traffic with more than 11,700 passengers, followed by the United Kingdom, with 8,700, and Germany, which added 6,700 travelers.

Increase in operations and annual balance sheet

Aircraft traffic also recorded a significant increase. During November, the airport handled 3,005 flights, an increase of 9% compared to the same period last year. This growth is evidence of a sustained recovery in air activity on the island.

As for the annual balance, between January and November 2024, the airport received 8,829,031 passengers, 1.5% more than in the same period of 2023. The accumulated operations during these months reached a total of 80,319 flights, consolidating the airport’s position as one of the main connection points in the Balearic Islands.

National context and outlook

At the national level, the Aena Group’s airports have also recorded outstanding growth. During November, they handled 26,433,304 passengers, 8.7% more than in 2023. This increase reflects a significant recovery in the air sector, which remains on the rise after the challenges of recent years. Ibiza Airport continues to position itself as a benchmark in the region, not only for its international connectivity, but also as a key driver for the local economy and tourism. With this data, growth prospects for 2025 look promising, further boosting Ibiza’s relevance in the national and international aviation landscape.

Ibiza airport was the scene of an unusual incident this midday, when a passenger on an Iberia Express flight bound for Madrid unleashed chaos by activating the emergency evacuation ramp. La Voz de Ibiza has had access to exclusive videos capturing the moments after the event, provided by a witness who was on board.

A delay that ignited tension

The flight, scheduled to take off at 1:30 p.m., was delayed for unclear reasons. During the wait, the engines were shut down for refueling, leaving passengers without air conditioning. This caused an increase in cabin temperature, intensifying the discomfort of the passengers. In this context, one man began to show signs of extreme nervousness, declaring in a loud voice: «This is a full-fledged hijacking! I’m disembarking right now!». These words, as witnesses told La Voz de Ibiza, generated an atmosphere of uneasiness among the rest of the passengers, who also began to get nervous.

An unexpected act and the intervention of the Civil Guard

Faced with growing tension, the crew requested the intervention of the Civil Guard. When the agents arrived at the scene, the passenger, visibly upset, made a decision that surprised everyone: he pressed the emergency button, activating the evacuation ramp and deploying it in the middle of the runway. The act caused an additional 45-minute delay in takeoff and completely blocked the aircraft’s operability, forcing the airline to take additional measures to ensure safety and resume operations. In the videos provided by a witness, we can see the moments after the event, where some passengers try to calm down after the unexpected incident. The records reflect the widespread disquiet caused by the passenger’s screams and subsequent intervention.

Consequences of the incident

The man was arrested by Guardia Civil officers and taken to police headquarters. He now faces charges of disorderly conduct and damage to the aircraft, in addition to possible significant financial penalties. The crew informed passengers that, due to the ramp deployment, the aircraft would be grounded, forcing the flight to be rescheduled and leaving dozens of people temporarily stranded at the airport.

The Ibiza airport was the scene of an unusual incident this midday, when a passenger on an Iberia Express flight bound for Madrid unleashed chaos by activating the emergency evacuation ramp. The Guardia Civil had to intervene and proceed to arrest him after an episode of extreme nervousness that further delayed the plane’s take-off.

A delay that ignited tension

The flight, which was scheduled to take off at 13:30 hours, was delayed for unclear reasons. The wait was made more uncomfortable when the crew turned off the engines to refuel, leaving the passengers without air conditioning and increasing the temperature in the cabin significantly.

In this context, a man began to show signs of extreme nervousness, shouting that they were being «kidnapped» and claiming that he could not stand the situation any longer. «This is a full-fledged hijacking! I’m disembarking right now!» he exclaimed, according to witnesses present on the plane to whom Diario de Ibiza had access.

A scene of panic

The passenger’s screams caused concern among the rest of the passengers, who also began to show signs of nervousness. In view of the growing tension, the crew decided to request the intervention of the Civil Guard.

When the agents arrived at the scene, the man, visibly upset, committed an unexpected act: he pressed the emergency button that activates the evacuation ramp, deploying it on the runway.

Delays and possible penalties

The incident not only added to the tension on the flight, but also caused an additional 45-minute delay in takeoff.
