]]>Spain also plays an important role in this premiere: it is one of the few countries in the world where the film will be shown with Cinity technology, an advanced projection system reserved for a very limited number of theaters.
While in many countries Cinity technology is still a rarity, in Spain its implementation has been growing in recent years. Together with China, a pioneer country in this format, Spain is at the forefront in terms of the number of cinemas prepared to offer this experience.
This progress has been made possible thanks to the commitment of Odeon Multicinemas, which has been progressively adapting its facilities since 2023. To date, more than seventy films have already been screened in this format, and for the premiere of Avatar 3 the Cinity theater network will be expanded even further.
The big difference in this third installment of Avatar is in how it will look: Cinity is a display system that integrates up to seven cutting-edge technologies into a single projection: 4K resolution, 3D imaging, increased brightness, high frame rate (HFR), high dynamic range (HDR), an expanded color gamut and surround sound.
The result is a more fluid, luminous and detailed image, accompanied by a sound that envelops the viewer. This combination seeks total immersion, something especially relevant in a saga designed to be experienced rather than simply seen.
These are the confirmed cinemas where you can enjoy Avatar 3: Fire and Ash with Cinity technology:
A Coruña: Odeon Narón (Narón)
Alicante: Odeon Alicante
Asturias: Odeon Parque Astur (Avilés)
Barcelona: Odeon Vilanova (Vilanova i la Geltrú)
Bizkaia: Odeon Ballonti (Portugalete)
Cádiz: Odeon Bahía Plaza (Algeciras)
Girona: Odeon Girona
León: Odeon León
Madrid:
Odeon Sambil (Leganés)
Odeon Alcalá Norte (Madrid)
With this deployment, Spanish audiences will be able to enjoy the new installment of Avatar as it was conceived: as an immersive experience designed for the big screen, where technology and narrative go hand in hand.
The concern for preserving the theatrical experience is increasingly visible in the industry. In recent years, directors such as Christopher Nolan, Ryan Coogler and Paul Thomas Anderson have defended the importance of screening films in optimal conditions, respecting the original format.
In this line, James Cameron once again positions himself as one of the filmmakers most committed to technological innovation. Although Avatar 3 does not resort to extreme analog formats like other recent productions, it does represent a different technical feat, designed to exploit the capabilities of modern exhibition to the maximum.

]]>Among the most anticipated projects is Alejandro Amenábar’s El cautivo, an ambitious historical production set in 1575, starring Julio Peña and Alessandro Borghi. There is also Romería by Carla Simón, which deals with family relationships marked by drugs and AIDS, and Mi amiga Eva by Cesc Gay, an intimate account of the changes in the life of a 50-year-old woman.
Gracia Querejeta will present La buena suerte, based on the novel by Rosa Montero, while Daniel Sánchez Arévalo will offer a choral comedy entitled Rondallas, set in a Galician coastal town. In the thriller area, Alberto Rodríguez will premiere Los tigres, about the discovery of a cocaine stash in a sunken cargo ship. Filmmaker Agustín Díaz Yanes returns with Un fantasma en la batalla, a political thriller that deals with the fight against ETA, while Fernando Colomo explores the creative crisis as a comedy with Las delicias del jardín.
2025 will also be the year of nostalgia. Samantha López Speranza will continue the saga of El otro lado de la cama with Todos los lados de la cama, and Pedro Aguilera revisits Carlos Saura’s classic with Día de caza, shifting the focus to women hunters. In addition,Borja Cobeaga will present Los aitas, a comedy that brings together a group of parents in Berlin during a gymnastics competition.
Although the list of titles is extensive, there are still questions as to whether projects such as Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s El ser querido or Aida y vuelta, a continuation of the mythical TV series, will arrive in time for this year. With these productions, 2025 promises to be a crucial year for Spanish cinema, not only for the quality of its stories, but also for the possibility of consolidating its position on the international scene and in the public’s preferences.
