]]>The race will be held from 9.00 am in Platja d’en Bossa, with a coastal route of two laps, and will bring together hundreds of runners of different ages and levels, consolidating itself as one of the most attractive events in the local sports calendar.
The race was presented this morning with the participation of Xicu Ribas, Councillor for Sports of the City Council of Sant Josep; Javier Bonet, Director of Sports of the Consell d’Eivissa, and Dani Becerra, organizer of the event.
During the ceremony, Xicu Ribas highlighted the good health of popular athletics on the island and the consolidation of the event within the local sports calendar.
The Councilor for Sports of the City Council of Sant Josep stressed the continued growth of the race and the public response to such initiatives: «That this race continues to grow edition after edition shows that citizens respond when open and well-organized sporting events are proposed. The Platja d’en Bossa 5K has become a very attractive event in the local calendar,» he said.
For his part, Javier Bonet emphasized the accessible nature of the distance and its value as a gateway to popular running. «We are talking about a race designed for everyone, especially for those who want to get started. It’s not just about competing, but about taking the first step towards an active and healthy lifestyle,» said the island’s Sports Director.
The organizer of the race, Dani Becerra, highlighted the evolution of female participation, which this year reached 47% of the total number of registered participants. «We are very close to parity and that is a clear reflection that more and more women feel comfortable and motivated to participate in this type of popular races,» he explained.
The start of the race will be from Red Gamba Street, while the finish line will be located next to the Nassau Beach parking lot.

A month later, on February 15, it will be the turn of the 10K, which will bring together some 1,500 participants and consolidates itself as one of the most important races on the national calendar.
The 2026 edition will also have a special character: the 10K will be held jointly with the Spanish 10K Road Championships, both in absolute and veteran categories, placing Sant Josep in the center of Spanish athletics during the whole weekend.
The course, known for its beauty and dynamism, combines stretches of coast and nature crossing the Natural Park of Ses Salines and the tourist area of Platja d’en Bossa. The race maintains elite marks with the records still in force of the Kenyan Benson Kiplangat (27:18) and the Kenyan Miriam Chebet (30:40), which strengthen its reputation as one of the fastest 10K in Spain and Europe.

A route that stars like Santiago Catrofe or María Forero defined as «one of the best in the country to run fast».

In addition to the 10K homologated and open to popular runners, the day will include the Toni Costa Balanzat race, with a route of almost 5 kilometers designed to increase participation. The free children’s races will also be back, with the aim of promoting the values of sport among children.

]]>La entrada Ibiza hosts the Red Bull Ibiza Royale: the most innovative obstacle course race of the year se publicó primero en La Voz De Ibiza.
]]>Known worldwidefor its vibrant nightlife and paradisiacal beaches, the island now adds a new attraction to its offer: an obstacle course that combines sport, spectacle and creativity at the emblematic Ibiza Castle. Mixed teams of two will have to overcome challenges that will test their strength, speed, coordination and teamwork as they ascend to the top of the castle, a place steeped in history and with spectacular views of the Mediterranean. Each obstacle has been designed by renowned athletes and content creators, such as Nil Ojeda, named «Idol of the Year 2023» by the Idol Awards, and Demi Bagby, an American athlete known for her creativity and charisma. With the advice of Denmark’s Ida Mathilde Steensgaard, a world champion and expert in obstacle courses, these designers have developed unique and entertaining challenges that promise to surprise both participants and spectators.

The Red Bull Ibiza Royale is not exclusively for professional athletes, something Steensgaard made clear when describing the event’s inclusive approach. «It’s much more than a demanding competition. We want it to be an experience for everyone, not just the most agile or fast. Participants will be challenged in different aspects, but, above all, we want them to have fun and enjoy the course,» said the champion, known as the «queen of obstacles» for her more than a decade of experience in this type of race. Among the challenges that will mark this race is Spaghetti Boulevard designed by Nil Ojeda. Inspired by his passion for Italian food, this obstacle recreates a picturesque Italian village, with elements such as giant spaghetti, pizza rollers and tomato sauces. Participants will have to climb, jump and coordinate with their partners, as they will be tied hand and foot, making coordination a key factor in overcoming the challenge.

«I wanted my obstacle to reflect something I am passionate about, such as Italian food, and also to be fun and challenging for the participants. I hope they enjoy it as much as I enjoyed designing it,» said Ojeda.
For Steensgaard, the choice of Ibiza as the venue could not be more appropriate: «Ibiza Castle and its surroundings offer the perfect setting for an obstacle course. The elevation changes, proximity to the sea and incredible views add a unique element to this experience. It will be a race with a little bit of everything, designed for everyone to enjoy». With its spectacular location, the participation of creative minds from around the world and the promise of an inclusive and exciting experience, the Red Bull Ibiza Royale is shaping up to be one of the most outstanding sporting events of the year. Whether as a participant or spectator, this April, Ibiza will be the place where creativity and sport meet in an unforgettable event.
The registration process for the Red Bull Ibiza Royale is now open. until March 14.
Those interested must form a mixed team of two people, complete a qualifying challenge and submit a video of less than 60 seconds explaining why they are ready to take on this adventure.
