La entrada The five major candidates to win the Copa del Rey se publicó primero en La Voz De Ibiza.
]]>In this edition, several historic teams have already dropped out of the tournament, and the panorama is beginning to be defined. Among those that remain, there are five clubs considered to be the main contenders for the trophy.
Below we will analyze the five teams that are best positioned to fight for the title.
Real Madrid arrives at this stage of the Copa del Rey without much to the liking of its fans and with a dressing room that seems to be letting go of Xabi Alonso, although he can never be dismissed for his incredible ability to always compete.
The group retains a firm structure, with players who are used to playing in finals and performing in critical situations. Despite the frequent changes that usually occur in this championship, Real Madrid presented a concentrated, practical and productive performance. Its psychological strength, together with the breadth of the team, enables it to compete in the Cup without neglecting other goals.
In a short tournament, where small things can be decisive, class and experience usually have a big impact, and in this respect, the white team has an advantage over any opponent.
Barcelona is entering the Copa del Rey at a crucial moment in its reconstruction under the direction of Hansi Flick, although it has some players in a low state of mind, such as Ronald Araujo. With a group of young players who are no longer just promises but have become realities, the team has achieved a better balance and a clearer identity than in previous years.
The Cup appears as a strategic objective to consolidate the project and the Catalan team is positioned as the great favorite for users of gambling platforms, according to predictive patterns that grant welcome bonuses in bookmakers, Barça combines intensity, possession and individual imbalance, which can lead them to conquer the title without major problems.
When it comes to knockout or single-leg competitions, Atlético de Madrid is always considered a natural contender, although it seems to rely heavily on the performance of Julián Álvarez up front and lacks a more elaborate approach. The Colchonero side enter the Copa del Rey maintaining their essence: tactical discipline, energy, defensive solidity and a great ability to compete in difficult conditions.
The Copa del Rey suits Atletico’s style, which is at ease in tense matches, with few mistakes and high concentration. In that dynamic, their ability to manage the game and take advantage of opportunities makes them one of the most difficult opponents, and no wonder.
Athletic Club re-establishes itself as one of the most prominent clubs in the Copa del Rey, an event that has special significance in its history. With a solid identity, focused on energy, collaboration and emotional motivation, the Basque team presents itself with firm foundations.
However, Athletic faces a major obstacle: the Champions League fixtures, which are not in their favor and which also take up a significant part of their schedule. This situation causes more complications than benefits, so it will have to manage the remainder of the year with a somewhat limited squad for three competitions.
Additionally, the symbolic importance of this tournament and the ambition to recapture a national title serve as an additional boost. When Athletic enters its competitive phase, it becomes a formidable opponent for any opponent.
Real Sociedad is another club that arrives at the Copa del Rey with solid arguments. In recent years, the organization has established a firm project, with a clear playing philosophy and a balanced squad, capable of competing at both national and international level.
The team exhibits good ball control, tactical order and a solid defense. In addition, they have a generation of players who have already gained experience in crucial matches, which is essential in this type of tournament.

]]>La entrada Es Pratet will use LED lighting for the first time and will reduce energy consumption by up to 60%. se publicó primero en La Voz De Ibiza.
]]>The City Council of Ibiza, through its Sports Department, has completed the complete replacement of the lighting of the pavilion, an action that will allow an estimated energy saving of up to 60% and a significant improvement in the conditions for sports practice.
The intervention is part of the municipal plan for the improvement of sports facilities and has involved the installation of 32 new LED projectors, replacing the old 400-watt halogen spotlights.
The new technology significantly reduces energy consumption, improves the quality of the pavilion’s interior lighting and reduces maintenance tasks. With this intervention, the Consistory leaves behind an obsolete system, which required constant revisions, and opts for a more durable, efficient and environmentally friendly solution.
The City Council has earmarked some 10,000 euros for this work, an investment that will be amortized thanks to the energy savings generated by the new lighting system.
The Councilor for Sports, Catiana Fuster, stressed that this action «demonstrates the real commitment of this City Council with the improvement and maintenance of sports facilities, while promoting new infrastructure and equipment«.
Fuster also stressed that the project «Eivissa, ciutat de l’esport» is not just a slogan, but «a tangible commitment that citizens and athletes can see and enjoy«.
The lighting renovation of the Es Pratet sports center is one of a number of initiatives promoted by the Ibiza City Council to modernize sports facilities, improve the user experience and move towards a more efficient and sustainable management model.

]]>The Huelva-born athlete, reigning European U23 cross country champion, has chosen Ibiza to attempt a historic double assault on March 29, 2026. Not only will she try to lower her own Spanish U23 10K road record (32:55), but she will also try to beat the absolute record, currently held by Carla Gallardo (31:11).
María Forero returns to the Cursa Patrimoni del Ayuntamiento de Ibiza as title defender and with renewed determination. She already knows what it’s like to win in this emblematic race, considered one of the fastest homologated 10K in the country.
In the last edition she won in a race marked by the strong wind. Only the adverse weather conditions prevented the Huelva-born runner from lowering her own U23 record and seriously endangering the record of the race, held by Laura Luengo (32:45). One year later, Forero will try to redeem herself and, if the weather is good, to sign a historic morning for national athletics.
The challenge comes at an unbeatable moment for the Andalusian athlete. Just a few days ago, María Forero was proclaimed European U23 cross champion in Lagoa (Portugal), confirming the constant progression of one of the great promises of Spanish athletics.
His track record also includes a European U23 title in 5,000 meters on the track and another continental gold in cross country U20, credentials that reinforce his choice of Ibiza as the ideal place to try to break the wall of the 10K road race.
The route of the Cursa Patrimoni remains unchanged, starting at Avenida de España and finishing at Paseo de Vara del Rey, in a one-lap route that summarizes the essence of the city: the surroundings of Dalt Vila, the promenade and the urban heart of Ibiza. Ten kilometers completely flat, with few turns and designed to run fast.
The event will once again bring together some of the best national athletes in the most emblematic sporting event in the city. In addition to the 10K homologated, the event will include the 5 kilometers of the Toni Costa Balanzat and free children’s races, with the aim of encouraging the practice of sports among the youngest.
The Cursa Patrimoni of the City Council of Ibiza is part of the Circuit of World Heritage Cities, composed of 15 races held in the 15 Spanish cities with this recognition, an initiative that combines sport and enhancement of historical heritage.
Registration for the Cursa Patrimoni del Ayuntamiento de Eivissa/Ibiza is now available on the official website of the event: www.10kcursapatrimoni.com.

]]>Sunday’s match made it clear that the team coached by Miguel Álvarez is undergoing a profound transformation. Neither Fede Vico nor Gallar, the most promising players, were even called up, which confirms that both are on the exit ramp.
With a lineup marked by absences, Álvarez opted for Sofiane as a center forward, Bebé on the right wing and Monju as a central defender. In the midfield, Señé again played some minutes, but was unable to provide criteria or balance. The slogan seemed clear: more ball, more control. But on the pitch, the script was the opposite.
Alcorcón took the initiative from the start and came close to scoring with a header against the crossbar. However, it was
Despite the advantage, the Ibizan team was unable to manage the pace of the game. Far from calming the game, the team took refuge in their own half,
After the restart, Alcorcón found the equalizer in a controversial play. A fall by Carmona against Monju in the area was flagged as a penalty, despite the doubts. Aparicio converted the penalty (1-1) and restored parity to the scoreboard.
With half an hour to go, Álvarez looked for a reaction with Davo as second striker, but the team remained sterile in attack. Once again it was Ramón Juan who saved the team with several meritorious interventions.
In the 86th minute, Bebé played an individual play from his own half, broke down the left and served a measured ball to Sofiane, who scored the 1-2. It seemed that Ibiza was taking the three points, but the outcome was once again cruel.
In the 95th minute, after a poorly defended action by the center of the defense, Vladys beat Ramón Juan and signed the final tie. In the last minutes, Alcorcón even came close to the third, leaving Ibiza on the ropes.

The athlete has won five gold medals in the Spanish Alevín Championship -in the 200 meters backstroke, 400 meters backstroke, 200 meters freestyle, 100 meters backstroke and 400 meters freestyle- and has been proclaimed first in the National Ranking in the Alevín category.
These results have made her worthy of the award for the best athlete of 2025, an award she received from the mayoress of Santa Eulària des Riu, Carmen Ferrer. During her speech, the mayor stressed that «her career is an example of how talent, combined with effort, discipline and the will to improve every day, can lead to exceptional results«. She also stressed that «behind every mark and every triumph there are strong values and a way of understanding sport based on respect and self-improvement«.
In addition to awarding the best athletes in each modality, the Feim Esport Awards include special distinctions aimed at recognizing values, commitment and trajectories that contribute to the development of sport in the municipality.
The Best Team Award went to Peña Deportiva Gimnástica Rítmica, after achieving promotion to the first category. For its part, the Best Club went to Club Tennis Taula Santa Eulària, runner-up in the Division of Honor league, second national category.
The recognition for Best Coach was awarded to Javi Bonet Salva, a reference in local and national swimming, for his ability to take his athletes to the top. The gala also served to highlight the campaign against violence in sport promoted this year by the City Council of Santa Eulària. Under the slogan «Guanya en respecte, per un esport sa», the initiative promotes a safe, respectful and tolerant sports environment, eradicating any form of physical or verbal violence.
The campaign has addressed different areas, from sports clubs and elite athletes to educational centers, institutions and influential actors. In this context, the City Council recalled that Santa Eulària already has a regulation for the use and operation of sports facilities, as well as an action protocol that facilitates the adoption of good practices by clubs.

]]>«The first half we played was unworthy. I feel bad for the club, for the people at the club, for the fans, for the whole UD family, because they don’t deserve that half. I have been ashamed on the bench, this is unbearable«, the coach stated forcefully in the press room.
Álvarez’s analysis was direct and straightforward. The coach thanked the fans for their «patience» and acknowledged that, without the fans’ encouragement, the team would have been defeated.
«If it weren’t for them, we would lose this game,» he said.
During halftime, the talk in the locker room was, as he admitted, «intense,» although he avoided offering details. «The coach and nine players could have been changed, the coach first, eh,» he confessed.
The coach regretted that mistakes continue to appear despite the previous preparation: «We work well, we prepare for the games, but we are covering up cracks, one side shows up another, and we have to solve that».
Alvarez was particularly disappointed by the team’s weak performance without the ball, an aspect that, he claims, had been improved in previous weeks. «We need to be a more balanced team,» he said.
Despite the lack of goals, the team had a few chances, such as a shot against the post by Davo and another clear action by Bebé. But the poor start of the game and the lack of accuracy marked the development of the match.
«We lack soccer, but we have to analyze what is happening, because it is not because of work, we have to value what it is, but the first half has been undignified by all of us, we have to analyze what is happening,» he insisted.
The draw leaves UD Ibiza with one more point in the standings, waiting to close the year on December 21 against Alcorcón at the Municipal Santo Domingo stadium.
The team has yet to achieve a clear victory that would endorse the work of the coaching staff and restore the confidence of the fans, who do not hide their disappointment.

]]>La entrada Ibiza reinforces its commitment to sports with a historic investment of more than 8 million euros se publicó primero en La Voz De Ibiza.
]]>The four projects already underway will be completed in 2026 and represent a decisive step in the consolidation of Ibiza as a city committed to physical activity, healthy leisure and the promotion of sport in all its disciplines.
The future Can Misses tennis complex will occupy an area of 5,084.90 m² and will incorporate three new clay courts that will respond to the growing demand for this sport in the municipality. The 1.3 million euro investment will create a completely renovated space with bleachers, changing rooms, a mini-tennis court, club offices, storerooms, a machine room and public bathrooms.
The design is committed to landscape integration and sustainability, using environmentally friendly materials and energy efficiency systems that will reduce CO₂ emissions and the visual impact of the complex.

With a budget of 3.9 million euros, the new Es Putxet field will be one of the most versatile sports facilities on the island. The 113 x 72 meter artificial turf pitch will be prepared to host 11-a-side soccer, 7-a-side soccer and rugby, thus recovering a discipline that had been lacking its own space in the city for years.
The facility will comply with the approvals of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the Royal Spanish Rugby Federation (RFER) and will include a physiotherapy room, men’s and women’s locker rooms, referee’s locker rooms, offices, storage and public toilets. It will also have an eight-row grandstand with a capacity for 986 spectators, ideal for official matches and local tournaments.

The Figueretes neighborhood will inaugurate a 2,751 m² sports center in 2026, the result of an investment of 2.7 million euros. This is a strategic facility for grassroots sports, with the capacity to meet the growing demand from clubs, schools and municipal activities.
The pavilion will house three transversal basketball courts, a longitudinal court, a futsal court, three volleyball courts, as well as changing rooms, adapted changing rooms, a gymnasium, an infirmary, a storage area and an access control area.
The bleachers will make it possible to receive the public for federation competitions, which can be held thanks to the improved lighting and the regulatory height of the space.

The complete renovation of the Platja d’en Bossa sports court, at a cost of 86,265 euros, responds to a historical demand of the neighbors and represents a significant improvement in safety and efficiency. The project, promoted by the Town Council of Eivissa and Red Eléctrica Española, includes the complete replacement of the artificial turf, the renovation of the pavement, the repair of the perimeter enclosure and the installation of new lights capable of reducing energy consumption by up to 60%.
It is also planned to remove obstacles and replace the old concrete benches with polyethylene models, a measure that will increase the safety of users and reduce the risk of injury during games and training sessions.
With these actions, Ibiza takes a decisive step towards a more active, healthy and cohesive future. The modernization of its facilities not only improves the practice of sports, but also strengthens the social fabric of the municipality, promotes grassroots sports and expands opportunities for all citizens.
The investment marks a turning point in the city’s commitment to the well-being and quality of life of its residents.

]]>During the meeting, the Councilor for Sports, Salvador Losa, stressed that this first edition «represents the essence of the values we defend: effort, respect, coexistence and equality». Losa thanked the involvement of teachers, students and all the people who have made possible a day «so necessary», stressing that «when sport educates, it transforms».
The Equality Olympiad is part of the «Nena i Esport» program , promoted by the Consell d’Eivissa to promote the participation of girls in grassroots sports and reduce the gender gap that still persists in many disciplines.
The activities began early in the morning at IES Xarc with an institutional reception for teachers and a non-sexist gymkhana designed by high school students. There were also yoga workshops, exhibitions and contests created by the students.
Later, the Palau de Congressos hosted the official opening, the presentation of the «Nena i Esport» program, the resolution of moral dilemmas and a meeting with young archery athletes, who shared their experience on discipline, perseverance and self-improvement.
One of the most relevant moments was the discussion around real situations raised by the students, such as cases of harassment of a female referee or derogatory comments towards female players. These examples showed the need to continue educating in respect and combating gender stereotypes from an early age.

During the conference, the essential role of families in the emotional management of the youngest sportswomen was also highlighted. The active participation of fathers, mothers, students and teachers made it possible to analyze how the environment influences the confidence, self-esteem and continuity of girls in the practice of sports.
The workshops and spaces for reflection demonstrated that sport not only fosters physical skills, but is also a decisive tool for transmitting values such as self-discipline, self-control and overcoming adversity.
The celebration of this first Olympiad comes after three school years developing the «Nena i Esport» program, in which 32 primary and secondary schools have participated. IES Xarc was selected as the venue for the quality of its pedagogical project and the involvement of its teaching staff.
Over the years, the Consell has organized world cafés, round tables, comic contests, olympics and multiple activities designed to break the gender gap in sports. Today’s event is a new milestone in this line of work, which seeks to consolidate itself as a reference in equality and grassroots sport in Ibiza.

]]>Despite the improvement in play and attitude, the team continues to fail to convert its chances and has now gone five games without a win, including the Cup defeat.
Since the arrival of coach Miguel Álvarez, Ibiza has not been able to make it three out of three. Under his guidance, the results still do not reflect the tactical evolution experienced by the team, which has yet to win or score a single goal.
In Sanluqueño’s field, UD Ibiza showed a more organized, dominant and ambitious version. The team played in the opponent’s field for a good part of the match, generated chances and kept control, but once again showed its big problem: the lack of goal.
Strikers Sofiane and Davo missed clear chances. In the most notable chance of the first half,
In the second half, the tone did not change. UD Ibiza maintained their dominance, with a great deployment of Del Pozo in midfield, and continued to accumulate chances. Davo had another clear opportunity after a previous mistake by Sofiane, but his shot into an empty goal did not find the target.
Even Sofiane came close to scoring again, as did central defender Nacho and Fede Vico in the final minutes, but neither could beat the home goalkeeper. The only action that ended in the net, a goal by Sofiane, was disallowed for a close offside. The television images did not help to clarify whether the decision was correct.
The starting eleven presented by Miguel Álvarez included Bebé, who, despite his attempts, had little impact in one-on-one situations.
The Celeste coach again opted for a two strikers and double pivot system, with Davo and Sofiane in attack, accompanied by Del Pozo and David García in midfield.
Although Sanluqueño hardly troubled the Ibizan area except in a couple of final actions, the Andalusian team used constant tactical fouls that interrupted the rhythm of the game and frustrated Ibiza’s attempts to string together continuous attacks.
With this new draw, UD Ibiza now has five consecutive matches without a win, including elimination from the Copa del Rey.
But even more worrying is that, under the management of Miguel Álvarez, the team has only been able to score one goal in the 1-1 draw in the cup duel, which ended in elimination on penalties.

In a first medical evaluation, Fernandez was found to have three fractured ribs: the fifth and sixth with displacement -although without free fragments- and the seventh, with a non-displaced fracture.
The subsequent computed axial tomography (CT) scan revealed internal damage that led the medical team to decide to immediately send him to the operating room.
As reported by the Ibizan club itself, the operation was successful and the player remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where he will remain under observation for the next few hours.
If the evolution continues to be favorable, he will be transferred to the ward to complete his recovery. The club has not specified a timetable for his return to sporting activities.
