The decision was taken by the management of the university after the power supply was restored in the early hours of the morning. After verifying the proper functioning of the affected services, the management has decided to resume all teaching activities of the afternoon shift scheduled for this Wednesday in all official studies, non-official and continuing education in all buildings on the campus of Palma, and videoconferencing classes at the headquarters of Menorca and Ibiza and Formentera. In the early hours of Tuesday morning there was a short circuit in a protection element of the electrical network of the Beatriu de Pinós building, which includes a key node of the medium voltage network that connects several buildings on campus, as explained by the university in a note. As a result of the failure, a significant part of the campus buildings were without power supply. The failure affected electricity, water, air conditioning, servers and communications services, among others. In addition, during the early hours of Tuesday afternoon, a second incident occurred, also in the Beatriu de Pinós building, as a result of the initial failure. At that time it was decided to suspend teaching activities.

]]> The City Council of Sant Antoni has announced an extraordinary call for financial aid for students of the municipality who studied outside Ibiza during the academic year 2023-2024. This program is intended for those who could not benefit from the ordinary call, taking advantage of the remainder of the budget that this year was increased from 30,000 euros to 50,000 euros.

Conditions and deadlines

The call, whose registration period will be from November 17 to 26, is aimed at students registered in the municipality with a minimum seniority of three years. To be eligible for these grants, it is essential that the studies carried out outside the island belong to intermediate or higher training cycles, official degree studies or higher artistic education. In addition, specific academic requirements must have been met, such as a minimum enrollment and a certain percentage of credits passed in the previous academic year. On the other hand, students who have already received aid in the ordinary call for applications in 2024 will not be able to participate in this new edition. Each beneficiary will be eligible for a maximum of 450 euros.

How to apply
