The insular coordinator of Pacma in Ibiza, Olivier Hassler, has filed a complaint with the Government Delegation in the Balearic Islands, the Government Subdelegation in Ibiza and the Court of Instruction for the alleged continuity of the activity in the animal protection center Can Dog, administratively closed on October 23 by the Consell de Ibiza.
As Pacma recalls in a statement, the closure order included a ban on the entry of new animals and the obligation to completely empty the facilities within seven working days, after alleged repeated irregularities were detected by the veterinary services. However, in the complaint filed, Hassler assures that he continues to receive neighborhood warnings and testimonies indicating that around 22 dogs are still inside the premises, without any public confirmation that the eviction has been carried out.
The letter stresses that the activity in the center is incompatible with the suspension and that this situation could compromise the welfare of the affected animals. For this reason, Pacma has requested the adoption of urgent precautionary measures, including the judicial removal of the dogs, their transfer to an authorized center and the appearance of Seprona to verify their condition.
The group insists that keeping animals in closed facilities “poses a clear risk to their life and integrity” and calls for immediate action by the authorities to ensure effective compliance with the closure order and the protection of the animals.
