The death of María Florencia Bollini continues to be shrouded in a halo of mystery that has turned the case into one of the most mediatic of the last year. The 44-year-old Argentinian, an Italian national, went to a private celebration in a luxury villa in Ibiza, without imagining that it would be her last night alive.
Bollini received an invitation via WhatsApp to attend what promised to be one of the most exclusive events of the season. In the message, attendees were encouraged to “bring whatever you feel like,” which anticipated an atmosphere of excess in which there would be no shortage of drugs, alcohol, fine dining and spiritual rituals.
The last hours: sauna, candles and a disconcerting scene
The events occurred during the early morning hours of October 13-14, 2024. Sometime during the night, Bollini entered the villa’s sauna. Shortly after midnight, there was an emergency alert call reporting his death.
When the police arrived at the scene, they found a scene as shocking as it was disconcerting. According to Las Provincias, Flor appeared “naked, with burns all over her body, lying on a table covered with a sheet and surrounded by candles”.
Those present assured that the well-known therapist was performing a ‘sapo bufo’ ritual , a practice that uses secretions from an amphibian with psychoactive substances. This type of ceremonies are part of the usual repertoire of the spiritual guide, who had achieved international fame for offering psychedelic experiences to businessmen and top executives.
Flor was considered a reference in the sector: Forbes had called her the “Corporate Shaman”, and her name was associated with therapies with ayahuasca, ketamine or other entheogenic substances.
A career marked by spirituality and reinvention
Before becoming an important figure in the shamanic world, Bollini had been prominent in Argentine politics. At the age of 25 she managed to carry out an urban revitalization in a neighborhood of Buenos Aires. But an “existential crisis” led her to abandon everything and travel through Europe, India, Africa and America.
During this period, she studied ayurveda, shamanism and ifá, and obtained the title of Mother Priestess, which allowed her to administer substances such as toad venom.
Her professional success led her in 2019 to found NANA Heals, described as the largest psychedelic medicine platform run by a woman, with initial funding of $1.6 million. However, her trajectory came to an abrupt end in the Ibiza villa.
Forensic report opens a new mystery
Although witnesses referred to the buffo and alleged cardiac episodes, the toxicology report did not confirm this hypothesis. On the contrary: the significant presence of drugs or alcohol was ruled out.
The study indicated that there were no lethal levels of substances in Bollini’s system. The analysis revealed only trace amounts of alcohol and non-lethal amounts of MDMA, ketamine, norketamine, amphetamine and methamphetamine.
The report concluded that the death was accidental. However, the family disagrees. His lawyer argues that “there are more than obvious indications” that a homicide, whether intentional or reckless, could have occurred.
Case reopens: new suspects and new questions
One year later, the investigation is back on the scene. Bollini’s entourage demands that the responsibilities of the five people who were present in the villa, of the owner of the house and of a married couple who allegedly kept objects belonging to the deceased be analyzed.

One of the key pieces could be the smart ring Flor was wearing at the time of his death. This device records parameters such as pulse, temperature and oxygen levels, information that could help reconstruct her last minutes alive.
