Casa Jondal, the trendy restaurant of the summer in Ibiza, known for being the best beach bar in Spain and one of the best in the world, the restaurant of celebrities, the place that has more waiting list than El Bulli, the restaurant that dispenses more caviar in the world, will open in early December a restaurant in Kitzbühel, a town in the Austrian Tyrol which is a hundred kilometers from Innsbruck. Under the name of Chizzo, it is a place that had been operating as an Italian restaurant and that in a few weeks will be reopened incorporating the magic and the Mediterranean spirit of the team led by the renowned chef Rafa Zafra.
Behind the business project are Víctor Agudo, former director of Pacha, and his Dutch partner. This is the first international adventure of Casa Jondal, a place that welcomes every summer illustrious visitors such as Robert de Niro, Jeff Bezos, Leonardo Di Caprio, Leo Messi, Mick Jagger, Bono, Roger Federer, Naomi Campbell and many others unknown to us. The opening has been confirmed to La Voz de Ibiza by Agudo himself, who this summer was in the news for having taken over Casa Formentera, formerly Casa Pacha .
Casa Jondal: the common thread
For the moment, few details of an operation on which Casa Jondal’s expansion team has been working for months have been revealed. Rafa Zafra anticipated this summer in an interview in El Mundo the opening of the new restaurant. “We are opening Casa Jondal in the snow, with the spirit and food of Jondal as a common thread, but always with a different touch. The Mediterranean diet is not only tomato and olive oil, it is also, and in Jondal you get it, how you behave at the table, how you sit, how you eat and relax. That there is no music, that you can talk to your friends, that they don’t use their cell phones. Taking it easy is also part of our product. Zafra, son of El Bulli, is behind the Estimar restaurants in Madrid and Barcelona. He is also behind Amar Barcelona, the main restaurant at Palace Barcelona, where he dined Barack Obama, Steven Spielberg and Bruce Springsteen at the same table.
