Unicef has recognized four schools in the Balearic Islands as Referents in Child Rights Education. And one of them is from Formentera: the school La Miranda de Sant Franscesc Xavier.
The Conselleria de EducaciĆ³n y Universides has hosted this Monday the delivery, by the Balearic committee of Unicef, of the accreditation of Referent Centers in Education in Children’s Rights, which has been awarded to four new centers of the archipelago. In addition to La Mirada, have been recognized La Salle school in Inca, the school Es Vedallet del Toro in Menorca and the school Agora Portals in CalviĆ . On the other hand, the Conselleria has explained in a press release that the non-governmental organization has renewed the accreditation of the IES Santa Maria de Santa Maria del CamĆ, the school Ses PaĆÆses de Sant Antoni de Portamany, the school Santa PonƧa de CalviĆ , the school Es Fameliar de Santa EulĆ ria des Riu, the school Es Molinet de CalviĆ and the school Bendinat, also in CalviĆ . These six centers were recognized for the first time in 2022. The award ceremony on Monday was attended by the Minister of Education and Universities, Antoni Vera, the regional secretary of Educational Development, Mateu SuƱer, the general director of Early Childhood, Attention to Diversity and Educational Improvement, Neus Riera, and the president of Unicef Balearic Committee, Valentina Milano. Unicef grants these accreditations to educational centers that promote and protect children’s rights by integrating the Convention on the Rights of the Child as a central axis of their educational project and involving the entire educational community.
