The PSOE has harshly criticized the Balearic Government for what it considers an ineffective management of the case of the apartments. Don Pepe in Sant Josep. During the plenary session of the Parliament held this Tuesday, the socialist deputy Irantzu Fernandez accused the Executive of failing to fulfill the promises made to the affected families, describing the situation as “deadlock”.
Unfulfilled promises and lack of progress
Fernandez recalled that, during the last legislature, the PP assured that the problem of the Don Pepe had a “simple and immediate” solution. However, according to the deputy, “after a year and a half of government, there is no clear solution in sight”.

In her intervention, Fernandez criticized the lack of consistency of the PP with respect to the promises made during the election campaign. “Your party starred in photos, tweets and signature collections assuring that they had the answer to the problem. Where is that solution now?”, questioned the socialist, accusing the Govern of using the drama of the families for political purposes.
The joint commission is still pending
One of the main demands of the PSOE is the convening of the mixed commission between the Govern, the Consell de Ibiza and the City Council of Sant Josep. According to Fernandez, the absence of this meeting reflects the unwillingness of the Executive to move forward on the issue. “Perhaps they do not convene it because they now govern in the three institutions and have no one to blame for their paralysis,” said the deputy. In addition, Fernandez lamented that, despite having passed six decrees so far in the legislature, “not even in the Omnibus Decree has there been room to include a solution for the Don Pepe”.
Demands to the Govern
The socialist concluded her speech by urging the Councilor for Housing, José Luis Mateo, to “get the batteries” and address the problem of the Don Pepe with greater seriousness. “The families deserve clear answers and concrete actions, not more delays or excuses,” she stressed.
