José Manuel Alcaraz has shown his willingness to resign in order to move forward with the motion of censure against the president of the Consell Insular, Llorenç Córdoba, a demand made by Gent per Formentera and the Socialist Party to accompany the proposal to the Plenary.
“La mocion va mel amb sucre(themotionof censure goes honeywithsugar),” he responded this afternoon when asked by La Voz de Ibiza, expressing that the motion or proposal is presented in such an attractive or positive way that it is difficult or impossible to reject it. Although he then avoided confirming his resignation, all roads lead to this outcome. With this, Alcaraz has expressed that the motion of censure is going ‘in the right direction’. However, there is still a stumbling block: to define the successor of the Presidency to the Consell.
Alcaraz clarifies: “I am not Córdoba”.
In the meeting held last night between GxF, PSOE, Partido Popular and Compromís, Alcaraz had already opened an advantage to his exit: ” I am not Córdoba, I will not castle“, he said in that meeting, as detailed by the Ibiza Newspaper.
In addition, he said that he had made his decision days ago, although he has not yet made it publicly known.
Time is of the essence
The opposing groups aspire to close the agreement this week to present the motion of censure before the end of the year, taking into account that the processing is 10 working days. “Once these signatures are registered, there are 10 working days. And the Plenary is convened after those 10 days at 12 noon,” Rafael Ramirez, of the PSOE, detailed yesterday. Although before taking this decisive step, they must agree on the candidate for the presidency of the Consell, another requirement that has not yet been unlocked. From GxF and the PSOE prefer that the name comes from the ranks of Compromís, so during yesterday the name of Óscar Portas was heard. But the ‘popular’ want to put one of their own in the presidency before the sacrifice of Alcaraz.
