A resident of Ibiza has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to buy gifts for the 15 children up to 12 years old who live in a local children’s home and are cared for by a team of social workers and educators. So far, it has raised 4,370 euros.
Each of these children will receive a gift, as well as a voucher that they can use to enjoy some activity or purchase. It is hoped that part of the funds raised will be used to improve the home’s facilities, ensuring that the environment is even more welcoming and enriching for its young users. The list of gifts for the children totals 620 euros, which represents the minimum necessary to guarantee that each one of them will receive their gift, the promoters of this campaign detailed in a note on Wednesday. The organizers of this solidarity event have the goal of reaching 1,500 euros, which will cover the vouchers, as well as provide additional resources for the center. The response from the community has been“overwhelming“, with numerous contributions coming from different sectors, from local businesses to individuals who wanted to contribute to this cause. Social networks, as highlighted by the organization, have played a key role in the dissemination of this campaign, something that has allowed to create a sense of unity mobilizing Ibizans to join this solidarity action.
