The express license granted to the restaurant Caminito for Juan Manuel Costa Escanella Paya and his two partners to convert the restaurant Caminito in a local show, in the image and likeness of the successful cabaret restaurant Lío de Ibiza has all the favorable reports and a warning: it can only be a restaurant. The maintenance of the current use comes by way of the Coastal Regulation. According to the file, “a restaurant could serve visitors to s’Estany Pudent but a discotheque or nightclub would be reported unfavorably and a subsequent change of this use could lead to the initiation of a sanctioning procedure“. This is not the only constraint facing the project. Thus, buildings must be demolished and heights lowered until the building returns to the situation it was in December 2010 and “adopt the measures of aesthetic adaptation of the activities contemplated in the PTI of Formentera”. As a result of the reports of the affected administrations, the developers were forced to modify the original project. The project required up to seven sectorial reports and the approval of the CTA of the Consell de Formentera: Directorate General of Natural Spaces and Biodiversity of the Conselleria de Medio Ambiente of the Balearic Government as the property is affected by the Conservation Area of the Natural Park of ses Salines, by the Natura 2000 Network and by an Area of Fire Risk Prevention; Directorate General of Coasts and Coastal as it is affected by the Coastal easement; Demarcation of Coasts of the Balearic Islands for being affected by the right of way of the Law of Coasts; General Direction of Energy for being affected by a High Voltage line; Roads of the Consell de Formentera itself for being affected by the Law of Roads; and the Technical Advisory Commission of Urbanism, Land Management, Historical Heritage and Activities (CTA). Weeks before the granting of the license, Costa Escanellas explained to La Voz de Ibiza that the intention of the promoters was to accelerate the works as much as possible in order to be able to open at the beginning of last season.
