In recent weeks, the residents of Sant Antoni were affected by a wave of thefts inside vehicles. The criminal acts, registered in different areas of the municipality, generated concern and led the Local Police to deploy an intensified surveillance device. This effort culminated in the arrest of two men of foreign nationality, accused of being responsible for these acts. The police headquarters, aware of the impact of these events on the security and tranquility of citizens, reinforced patrols in strategic areas, identifying patterns and key points to anticipate the movements of criminals.
Caught in the act
The police strategy paid off when the agents, during one of their reinforced patrols, caught the suspects in flagrante delicto. The men were picking the locks of up to six vehicles, gaining access to the interior of several of them to steal personal items. At that moment, the police officers intervened, proceeding to the immediate arrest of the individuals.
The detainees were taken to police headquarters and subsequently handed over to the Civil Guard of Sant Antoni, which is now leading the investigation to determine whether the accused are linked to other similar crimes.
Special Christmas security operation
As part of these arrests, the Local Police of Sant Antoni has reaffirmed its commitment to public safety, especially at this time of year, where commercial and social activity increases significantly. As part of the special Christmas operation, surveillance rounds have been intensified throughout the municipality to prevent not only thefts, but any act that may jeopardize the tranquility of the neighbors.
A call for citizen collaboration
From the Local Police, citizens are reminded of the importance of their collaboration in the fight against crime. They urge neighbors to be vigilant and to report any suspicious behavior that may be related to theft or other crimes. “Prompt reporting allows us to act more effectively and protect the community,” said police sources.
