The Conselleria de Agricultura, Pesca y Medio Natural del Govern has warned that for today there is a 3 alert for fire risk for Ibiza and Formentera, as well as in almost all of Mallorca.
This alert is established on a scale of 1 to 4. According to the Forest Management Service, in the case of level 3, it is a “formal activation of weather warnings for FMA (winds, maximum temperatures, heat waves and / or storms), regardless of the risk of forest fire from AEMET, or when there are unique circumstances from the hazard analysis”. This entails restrictions, such as the impossibility of burning in forest areas, although it is allowed to do so if distance is kept with this type of land, and taking precautionary measures.
Alert level
The alert level is based on information from AEMET (especially wind speed and precipitation, and considering orange or red alerts for adverse phenomena). It also considers daily hazard analysis carried out by the Forest Management Service (General Directorate of Natural Environment and Forest Management) and/or the Forest Fire Communications Center (CCIF). It is worth remembering that for today, originally, AEMET had warned an orange alert level in Ibiza and Formentera, which was later lowered to yellow, for strong winds of up to 90 km/h in some areas and waves that could reach 4 meters.
