Ibiza and 5 other cities in Spain among the most searched for on Google

Ibiza came in 6th place in the ranking of the most searched islands and cities on Google during 2024, according to data that the website Condé Nast Traveller, specialized in tourism, collected from the Trends tool. Five other Spanish cities in the top 10: what are they?

Once again Ibiza stands out worldwide when talking about tourism. On this occasion, Google Trends search data on tourist destinations in 2024 were released, which the technology giant has provided to Condé Nast Traveller. The site has made two rankings: one with the most searched countries and another of islands and cities.

Ibiza among the top 10 most searched islands and cities in Google 2024

Ibiza ranks 6th in the aforementioned ranking of islands and cities with the most searches this year. “There’s something particularly special about Ibiza, with its intense party scene that has mellowed in recent years, melding with bohemian beach hideaways, gently seductive sojourns and plenty to discover in between. Come off-season to embrace the island at its best, with empty beaches and restaurant tables overlooking the old town.” describes Olivia Morelli, the article’s editor, about the island.

Tourism in Ibiza

According to the Ibiza Presevation report, in 2023 there were 3,379,359 tourists who chose Ibiza for vacationing, which represented an increase of 10.2% over 2022. That figure represents 2,123 tourists for every 100 inhabitants of the island. Data published by Turespaña reveals that between January and September 2024, 2.3 million international tourists arrived in Ibiza. These statistics are reflected in the economic income: the Balearic Institute of Statistics (IBESTAT) calculates that from January to October of this year tourism has generated 4.338 million euros in Ibiza and Formentera.
