On April 25, 2024, the Plenary Session of the Ibiza Town Hall approved a modification to the Ordinance that regulates the opening and closing hours of public establishments and recreational activities in the municipality. After passing the public information period without allegations, the text has been ratified and will enter into force this Friday, January 17, as stipulated in the local regulations.
The new regulation, published this Thursday in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands, establishes the schedules for a wide variety of activities, seeking to balance citizen enjoyment with respect for the environment and coexistence. Among the most important changes, the following are included:
Public shows and recreational activities:
- Cinemas, theaters and auditoriums may operate from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., including outdoor ones.
- For circus shows, the hours will be from 10:00 to 00:00 hours.
- Stadiums and other sports venues with spectators will be able to open from 8:00 am to 1:00 am, while sports facilities without spectators, such as gyms, will operate from 6:30 am to 00:00 am.
Nightlife and entertainment establishments:
- Nightclubs, nightclubs and concert cafes will have extended hours from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. during the summer months (June to September). During the rest of the year, closing time will be reduced by 30 minutes, except for weekends and holiday eves.
- Restaurants, bars and cafeterias will be able to serve the public from 8:00 to 3:30 during the summer, with a similar reduction in the remaining months.
Other cultural services and activities:
- Museums, libraries and cultural centers will be available from 8:00 to 00:00.
- Playgrounds and amusement rides will be open from 10:00 to 00:00 hours.
- Popular celebrations, such as verbenas and festivals, will extend from 8:00 pm until 2:00 am.
