The Guardia Civil has arrested this Monday a man of Colombian origin as the alleged perpetrator of the stabbing that occurred last Saturday in a barbershop in Calle del Mar, in the center of Sant Antoni de Portmany. According to sources of the Armed Institute, the detainee will be brought to court in the coming hours.
The events took place on Saturday afternoon when two men entered the establishment and, after recognizing the victim, also a Colombian national, began a heated argument related to an altercation that had occurred in October. The dispute continued outside the barbershop, where one of the men pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the side before fleeing with his companion. The owner of the shop quickly transported the wounded 29-year-old to a nearby medical center. He was later taken to Can Misses Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Although his prognosis was initially reserved, the authorities reported that he is now out of danger, pending the evolution of his injuries. The investigation, led by the Judicial Police of the Guardia Civil, has considered several hypotheses, including a possible settling of scores or a drug-related conflict. After closing in on the alleged assailant, the authorities managed to arrest him two days after the attack. The Guardia Civil is still working to locate the second person involved in the incident.
