The special Christmas 2024-2025 device in Ibiza, led by the National Police, will be National Police in collaboration with the Local Police, closed its balance with more than 60 arrests, the seizure of drugs and weapons, and nearly 200 vehicles registered. This operation, developed between December and January, focused on guaranteeing security during the festivities, especially in the commercial areas of the center of Ibiza.
Safety on the streets and results of the operation
During this holiday season, the security measures were in place at key points in the city to allow activities, events and shopping to take place normally. As a result, more than 50 tickets were issued for possession of narcotic substances and several prohibited weapons were seized, demonstrating an effective approach to prevention and control. Traffic controls also played an important role, with almost 200 vehicles inspected at different points of the island. These measures not only sought to prevent crime, but also to reinforce the confidence of citizens and merchants in a safer environment.
A robbery marks the device
Among the outstanding actions, on December 5, at 3:00 p.m., an armed robbery took place in a store in the central Paseo de Vara de Rey. This event triggered an investigation led by the UDEV group of the National Police, which concluded with the arrest of the suspect on December 19 after an entry and search at his home. The detainee was placed at the disposal of the court after completing the operation.
Positive balance for the holidays
The coordination between the National Police and the Local Police was fundamental for the success of the device, which allowed residents and visitors to enjoy a more peaceful and protected Christmas. Although isolated incidents were recorded, the authorities highlight the effectiveness of the preventive and control measures, underlining their commitment to citizen safety.
