La SD Portmany has announced the creation of a Parents’ Committee for its youth players, with the aim of promoting good sporting practices and ensuring a healthy environment for the development of young footballers. This committee is made up of family members from each of the club’s categories and also includes representatives from the coaching staff and the board of directors. This committee not only focuses on sports issues, but also meets regularly to discuss various aspects of sports training, healthy habits and attention to the needs of the players. As explained by the club, decisions are made in coordination with coaches and other professionals, who receive specialized training in areas such as nutrition, psychology and training methodologies. This multidisciplinary approach is part of the Multidisciplinary Training Plan that SD Portmany promotes to improve the integral development of the players.
A code of best practices
One of the Committee’s first measures has been the implementation of a Code of Good Practices, aimed at both players and their families. This code promotes the importance of maintaining a positive and respectful attitude on and off the field, avoiding situations that may negatively affect performance and the sports environment. Thus, the club aims to create a safe and coexistence space that promotes values of tolerance, equality and solidarity. The president of SD Portmany, MĀŖ JosĆ© Castillo, has pointed out that this committee is a reflection of the club’s commitment to sports education and the values that have characterized the entity for more than a century. “SD Portmany reinforces its commitment to the sports education of the youngest and will continue working to transmit to children the spirit of respect, tolerance, coexistence, equality and solidarity,” Castillo emphasized.
