The officer of the Local Police of Santa Eulària, Juan Tur, received yesterday in Madrid the gold medal at the National Road Safety and Education Awards organized by the State Federation of Road Safety Education Technicians (Fetevi) and the National Union of Local Police Chiefs and Managers (Unijepol). The distinction recognizes his career and professional merits on Road Safety Education in the municipality and as a member of the Road Safety Education program of the Balearic Government. Tur is an agent of the Local Police of Santa Eulària des Riu since 1995 and since its inception was involved in road safety education of children in the municipality as he was also studying a career in teaching. In the early years she carried out the tasks of training children outside her working hours in order to help in the coverage of the police service. He has continued to train and develop activities for about 2,000 students per course. It so happens that the medal was given to him by the president of Fetevi, José López, former agent of the Local Police of Santa Eulària des Riu. Present at the ceremony were the mayoress of Santa Eulària des Riu, Carmen Ferrer; the councilor of Citizen Security, Juan Carlos Roselló; and the new chief of the Local Police, Félix Valverde.
