The Socialist Municipal Group of Santa Eulària has denounced this Wednesday that the company Tur Rubio SL, of which is a shareholder the deputy mayor Miguel Tur Rubio, would have received 109 payments from the City Council since 2019, totaling 62,587.55 euros. The socialists claim that these contracts, intended for various concepts such as the purchase of household appliances, are in addition to the controversial hiring of a local of the same company to house the headquarters of Social Services, whose lease and reform reached 800,000 euros. The socialist spokesman, Alan Ripoll, accompanied by other members of the municipal group, has requested at a press conference the declaration of incompatibility of Miguel Tur Rubio based on Article 178 of the LOREG, arguing that his simultaneous participation as a contractor of the City Council is a conflict of interest. Ripoll has also called for the dismissal of the deputy mayor and the nullity of the contracts made with the company Tur Rubio SL. In addition, the PSOE has proposed a comprehensive audit of all contracts and payments made to the company since 2019. “It is necessary to detail invoices, concepts and amounts and analyze all this information in the municipal plenary,” said Ripoll.
Context of the complaint
Among the irregularities reported, the PSOE highlights payments ranging from 26.83 euros to 4,894.84 euros for concepts that qualify as opaque, since they have not been detailed publicly. For the socialists, these facts aggravate the controversy generated by the award of the premises of Social Services to the same company, which had already been denounced previously. The spokesman has also demanded that the plenary be informed about the contents of the report prepared by the Anti-Corruption Office, included in the report of 2023, and which includes references to the management of the City Council of Santa Eulària.
Response from the City Council
So far, the government team of the Popular Party has not issued statements on the new accusations. However, the PSOE assures that it will present a motion at the next plenary session in November to address these allegations and request detailed explanations.
