The PSOE of Formentera has issued an open letter addressing the institutional crisis affecting the island and reaffirms its commitment to finding solutions through dialogue and cooperation. The statement comes on the eve of the demonstration called for this Thursday, in which citizens are expected to express their dissatisfaction with the current political management. In the letter, signed by the Socialist Secretary General, Rafael Ramírezpoints out that Formentera is facing a critical moment and calls on political parties, trade unions, civil society and neighbors to work together to recover the institutions. Ramirez stressed that this public mobilization should mark a turning point towards political understanding and rebuilding public confidence.
The importance of dialogue and transparency
In his message, Ramirez stressed that hope and collective commitment are fundamental to overcome the current polarization and return the protagonism to the citizens. “Politics must be a tool to generate positive change and promote the common good, not an arena for disputes over power,” he said. The socialist leader also stressed the need for long-term public policies that address structural problems such as housing, climate change and inequality. In this context, he insisted that leaders must act with ethical values such as justice and transparency, always prioritizing the collective interest. Ramirez urged the publication of the report of the Code of Ethics monitoring commission, which, according to him, could mark a change of course in political management. “There is no turning back. Hope applied to politics must prevail again,” he said, highlighting the importance of recovering the effective functioning of the institutions. The PSOE of Formentera has stated that its political group will be present at the rally this Thursday as a show of support for the citizens and as an active part in the search for solutions. “Our commitment is to do everything in our power to restore hope to our neighbors as the backbone of the policy of our society,” concluded Ramirez.
