A married couple of 76 and 78 years old suffered a violent assault in their country house, located between Sant Llorenç and Santa Gertrudis, last Friday around 6:30 pm. Two hooded men broke into the house and, after threatening the couple with bladed weapons, assaulted them to steal a sum of money. The victims required medical attention from 061 and were taken to Can Misses Hospital.

The robbery has been revealed by Periódico de Ibiza. The assailants, who spoke Spanish, fled after committing the robbery. The Guardia Civil and the Judicial Police went to the scene and have taken over the investigation. According to the authorities, these groups usually act after conducting surveillance and following their victims, previously securing the escape routes. So far, no arrests have been made in connection with this case.

The Guardia Civil confirmed that, days before, an individual investigated for several robberies with force and violence in points of Sant Josep was arrested, which reinforces the hypothesis of organized criminal activity in the area.
