From this Tuesday, Ibiza becomes the epicenter of European badminton with the start of the European Junior Championships, an event that promises 13 days of intense international competition. At the Sa Blancadona sports center, the activities kick off with the team competition, which runs from November 26 to 30. Afterwards, the focus will shift to the individual competition, scheduled from November 30 to December 5. The significance of the event does not end there. Immediately afterwards, Sa Blancadona will host the qualifier for the European Mixed Team Championship from December 5 to 7, followed by the Spanish International U15 and U17, to be held from December 6 to 8.
Spain, hostess with a local accent
The national team makes its debut this Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. against Austria in Group 6, which also includes England and the Netherlands. Among the selected players are three players from the High Performance Center in Madrid, accompanied by seven midfielders from the Balearic Islands, as well as representatives from Andalusia, Aragon, Galicia, Asturias and Valencia. The Spanish team seeks to stand out in a competition in which young talent and experience combine to aspire to the top.
Volunteers, a key part of the event
More than 150 volunteers, including between 100 and 110 TAFAD students who will act as line judges, are part of the logistical gear. Their work is essential to ensure the success of a competition of this magnitude, which projects Ibiza as an impeccable venue in the organizational field.
