The new government team of the Consell de Formentera has constituted the Governing Board, following the proclamation of Óscar Portas as president of the island the execution of the motion of censure against Llorenç Córdoba.

As reported by the Consell, this Saturday, through a statement, the government team held a meeting with the secretary of the institution to initiate a stage “marked by commitment, dialogue and strategic vision”. With the Governing Board, inoperative since last June, “it will be possible to return to the island administration its service capacity,” as stated by the Consell de Formentera. This Board will be made up of the president and all the island councilors, except for Artal Mayans. In addition, as for the distribution of responsibilities, Portas will assume the Presidency and Interior;Verónica Castelló will be the first vice-president of the Consell and island councilor of Mobility and Environment. Javier Serra will be second vice-president and island councilor of Territory, Infrastructure and Economy. Hugo Martínez will be third vice-president, spokesman and island councilor of Sports and Human Resources, while Artal Mayans will be island councilor of Tourism, Commerce, Housing and Innovation. María Cristina Costa will be in charge of Social Welfare and Education and Eva Nieto of Culture, Youth, Festivities and Seniors. The island councilors will have exclusive dedication, except Mayans who will work 90 percent in the Consell de Formentera. Portas has also made effective the dismissal of two previous positions of trust, although the insular director of Tourism and Environmental Management will be maintained. Asier Fernández has also been dismissed as insular director of Litoral.
