The municipal group of the PSOE has expressed its concern about the situation of the parking lot of the Mercat Nou in Ibiza, denouncing a lack of maintenance that endangers the safety of users. This space is currently propped up, a measure that, for the socialists, shows the seriousness of the problem. The PSOE recalls that they left an executive project prepared to reform the market and build a provisional space, but they claim that this has not been implemented.
According to the group, the planning and execution of these improvements has been delayed due to the decisions of the current government team headed by Rafael Triguero.
Delays and criticisms of management
The socialists attribute the situation to what they describe as “poor planning” and “whims” of the current mayor. They claim that the lack of progress on the project has not only aggravated the state of the parking lot, but has also affected other areas of the city, such as the relocation of sports spaces, a process that, according to their version, has not yet been completed. The parking lot, located in a strategic area, is frequented daily by citizens and visitors. The PSOE’s complaint puts on the table the need to prioritize solutions to ensure both the safety and functionality of this space.
Demand public explanations
In its communiqué, the PSOE has urged the government team to offer explanations to the public about the progress and future of the project. The situation, they say, cannot continue in its current state without compromising the confidence of users and the safety of the market.
