Firefighters of Ibiza confirmed last night that a man died on Tuesday evening, around 19:00 hours, in the area of Cala de Bou burned inside his van. The events occurred in Navarra street in Cala de Bou(Sant Josep). According to witnesses videos circulating through social networks, two explosions were heard. The origin of the deflagrations would be the two butane cylinders that the individual had introduced inside the vehicle. Subsequently, he set fire to it and got into it, which fuels the hypothesis that we are dealing with a suicide. The Civil Guard is investigating the facts. Firefighters arrived at the scene when the vehicle was on fire. Too late to avoid the tragedy, since at that moment the vehicle was being engulfed in flames.
Explosions and neighborhood alarm
The vehicle was parked in front of numbers 14-20 Navarra Street, next to a vacant lot next to an electrical transformer.
Intervention of emergency services
Firefighters from the Ibiza Island Park, with a team of three firefighters, a fire engine vehicle and a foreman, went to the scene after receiving the call. After extinguishing the fire, they confirmed that inside the vehicle was a dead person. Agents of the Local Police of Sant Josep and the Guardia Civil, who have cordoned off the area while the Judicial Police investigates the causes of the incident, also went to the area.
