The Vuelta a Ibiza MTB SIROKO by Shimano, one of the most important mountain biking events in Spain, will count this year with the participation of two outstanding names: Enrique Morcilloone of the most recognized bikers of the island, and his partner and friend José María Sánchez, current Spanish MTB Marathon champion. Both cyclists will seek to reach the top in a competition that promises to be full of excitement and challenges.
A change of equipment for Morcillo
For the first time in eight years, Enrique Morcillo will compete with the SCOTT Cala Bandida team, leaving behind his long career with the Buff-Megamo Team. This change marks a new stage in his career, but does not alter his commitment to the Vuelta a Ibiza, a race he considers special because it is held in his homeland.
“I am motivated and eager to face this season with new challenges. The Vuelta a Ibiza is one of my main objectives this year. It is a race that has always excited me, and doing it with José María makes it even more special”, Morcillo assures.
A long awaited return
José María Sánchez, meanwhile, returns to the Vuelta a Ibiza after a victory with Morcillo in 2021. For the Andalusian, this event has a special meaning, not only for its sporting importance, but also for the opportunity to compete alongside a friend. “Riding with Enrique again is a dream come true. We have always formed a great team, and the island brings us incredible memories. We are going to give everything to be among the best,” says Sanchez, excited about this new opportunity.

This year, with the duo of Morcillo and Sanchez on the start line, the competition is shaping up to be one of the closest.
