On Wednesday night, at around 23:00 hours, a man illegally gained access to a house located in Sant Josep, forcing several accesses and breaking a window. However, the intruder’s movements were captured by a security camera system with video verification, which immediately activated the alarm installed in the property.
The alert reached the alarm receiving center of the security company GPS 909, which reported the intrusion to the Guardia Civil and mobilized a guard to the site.
Immediate response from the authorities and the owner
A few minutes later, members of the Guardia Civil, a representative of the security company and the homeowner arrived at the scene. There they found that the intruder had damaged the door and a window, but had already fled the scene. The quick action of the alarm system and the intervention of the authorities prevented the assault from culminating in the squatting of the property, a problem of growing concern to the island’s residents.

The Guardia Civil has initiated an investigation to identify the person responsible for the attempted squatting. The images captured by the security cameras will be key to clarify the facts and find the perpetrator.
