The municipality of Ibiza bids a sad farewell to Jorge Tapias Aparicio, a renowned local policeman who passed away this Thursday at the age of 68. Tapias, who dedicated much of his life to community service, was the husband of designer Pepa Bonett and retired in 2019 after decades of work, receiving an emotional tribute from the Ibiza Town Hall in recognition of his dedication.
A man remembered for his humanity
Jorge Tapias not only left his mark on his career as an agent, but also on the lives of those who knew him. In a message shared on this platform, his generosity and affable character were highlighted: “A great person, friend of his friends, husband, father and brother, who always listened to help and never lost his smile”.

The wake of Jorge Tapias will take place this Saturday at the crematorium morgue of Santa Eulària, between 14.00 and 17.00 hours. Social networks have been filled with messages of condolences and memories, where neighbors and colleagues have highlighted his humanity, professionalism and the joy he transmitted in his day to day.
