Sant Antoni is ready to celebrate next February 2 the 18th edition of Sant Antoni Rural, an event that has established itself as a tribute to the traditions and rural life of the island of Ibiza. Organized at the agricultural cooperative, this annual gathering is a mix of culture, entertainment and community, designed for people of all ages. The event will begin at 11 a.m. with a warm welcome that will include a ball pagès exhibition, followed by a traditional breakfast of bread, wine and sobrassada. In addition, attendees will be able to enjoy an exhibition of the IV Rural Photography Contest, whose inscriptions and rules are available on the official website of the cooperative and Foto Rocha.
Fun for young and old
The program of activities is varied and designed for the whole family. From children’s games organized by Jugueroix to craft workshops, the atmosphere promises to be full of color and entertainment. The little ones will be able to participate in the II Verro Kids, an athletic competition with obstacles designed for boys and girls between the ages of 3 and 14. Creativity will also be rewarded, as the originality of the costumes will be valued. At 1 p.m., attendees will be able to enjoy traditional activities such as the llaurada pagesa and wagon rides for the little ones. The day will continue with a traditional lunch that will include a torrada, local pastries and vi pagès, all enlivened with live music to create a festive atmosphere.
The expected Verro Olímpic
One of the most anticipated moments of the day will come at 3:30 p.m. with the celebration of the tenth edition of the Verro Olímpic, a competition that mixes sport and humor. The teams, formed by two people over 18 years old, will have to overcome various rural challenges while competing for attractive prizes. The only essential rule: participate in costume and with the desire to have a good time.
A meeting that reinforces rural identity
Sant Antoni Rural is not only an entertainment event, but also a space to highlight the importance of rural life and local products. The market that will be set up at the cooperative will offer a selection of food and handcrafted items that celebrate the spirit of the Ibizan land. This event has become an annual meeting point for locals and visitors, who find it an opportunity to reconnect with the roots and traditions of the countryside.
