This Tuesday there will be an annual meeting of members of the Club Nautico de Ibiza, the first since May when it abandoned its historic facilities. In the air hovers the resignation of its president, Juan Marí, after it became known that the judge issued the order to open the oral trial in the macro case of ports to be tried by the Provincial Court of the Balearic Islands next year.
According to what La Voz de Ibiza has been able to learn, Marí would have advanced this decision to several close ones, which could be finalized tomorrow at the assembly to be held at 8.15 pm in Can Ventosa. ”
I do not know. Tomorrow there is an assembly. I can’t tell you anything more .
A different attitude
The determination that Juan Marí would take tomorrow is far from the attitude of Ruiz, screwed to his chair as councilman of Vila and his position as spokesman of the Socialist Group in the City Council of Ibiza.
This despite the fact that the Code of Ethics and Conduct of the Socialist Party approved by the Federal Committee of the PSOE on March 18, 2023 is very clear: it establishes that once an order to open an oral trial has been issued, the imputed socialist militant “must request voluntary withdrawal as a member and resign from his position”.

However, the Socialist Federation of Ibiza (FSE-PSOE) has issued a statement reiterating its full support for the former mayor of Ibiza and is confident that the investigation will be shelved or that Ruiz will eventually be acquitted.
What they are accused of
As published by La Voz de Ibiza, both the statement of instruction of the judge Martina Mora and the indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office relate the maneuvers of the APB leadership and with the support of the state lawyer and in collusion with the former mayor of Ibiza and then member of the Board of Directors of the APB and the knowledge of the Club Náutico de Ibiza so that the entity maintained the exploitation of the dock in the port of Vila to the detriment of the other bidders. Ruiz and Marí are facing a sentence request of three years in prison for a continuous crime of administrative malfeasance. As expected after neither the private prosecution, Doce Millas, nor the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office requested it in their indictments, the vice-president of the club, the lawyer and former Minister of Interior of the Balearic Government, the socialist Josep Maria Costa, has been spared from the dock. Rafa Ruiz and Juan Marí will be joined by 12 more people in the dock. At the head, the former president of the Port Authority appointed by Francina Armengol, Juan Gual de Torrella. He faces a request for nine years in prison for crimes of fraud to the administration, bribery, influence peddling and prevarication. Juan Carlos Plaza, director of the APB when the facts were committed, Armando Parada, head of operations, Fernando Berenguer, head of management, Dolores Ripoll, the state lawyer, and Fernando Puigserver, vice president of the APB, are facing requests for four years in prison. Five other people will sit in the dock for the alleged rigging of a marina in the port of Mahon: Justo Saura, as president of the nautical employers, and Benito Reynes, Javier Mas, Marc Pons Perez and Basilio Sastre, representing the company allegedly benefited.
