A man has died at the Son Espases Hospital after being hospitalized for more than a year in a coma, following the assault he received from two minors in November 2024 when they tried to rob him in Mallorca.
This has been confirmed by the family of the deceased, through the website where they collected donations for the health care of this man who finally could not recover from the injuries suffered.
On December 27, 2024, agents of the National Police arrested two boys, minors, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of robbery with violence and attempted homicide, for beating up a man to steal his cell phone.
In a press release, the National Police reported that the events occurred on November 30, around 03.00 hours, at which time a call was received in the 091 room reporting that a man was unconscious and bloodied on the public road in the neighborhood of La Soledad. The victim was taken to hospital in very serious condition.
In the days following the aggression, a complaint was filed by a relative of the victim, reporting that the victim had suffered a violent robbery, which provided the last location of the telephone terminal, which was apparently stolen during the aggression and showed that after the robbery, the phone was found in streets near the neighborhood of Son Gotleu.
The Robbery Group of the Judicial Police Brigade began the corresponding investigation of the facts, obtaining the testimony of witnesses who witnessed the aggression.
The detainees turned out to be two boys, minors, who allegedly beat the victim in a surprise manner, continuing the aggression once he was on the ground, without any possibility of defending himself and unconscious.
As a result, the officers arrested the boys on suspicion of robbery with violence and attempted homicide.
