Three nights, three robberies. This is how the alleged perpetrator of a series of robberies committed on consecutive days at the end of December acted in a series of robberies in hotels and restaurants in Ibiza.
The man, of Spanish nationality, was arrested in the early hours of December 30 in the Basque Country street, as part of a joint operation between the National Police and the Local Police of Ibiza, as reported by the Balearic Police Headquarters.
The arrested man, with more than thirty police records, was fully identified by the agents of the Specialized Crime Group (UDEV) as being responsible for the three robberies. After the corresponding investigations, the suspect’s information was distributed among the patrols until he was located and subsequently arrested.
Three robberies in three different areas of the city
The events began on the night of December 25 to 26, when a robbery was reported in a cafeteria in Aragón street, where the perpetrator broke a gate to gain access to the interior. In addition to the material damage, cash was stolen, although the amount was not specified.
The second robbery occurred between December 27 and 28 at a restaurant on Avenida Pedro Matutes Noguera, where the thief gained access by breaking a glass and took 150 euros from the cash register.
The third robbery took place at another restaurant, this time on Navarra Street, between December 27 and 29. Again, the perpetrator forced a gate to enter. Although the amount stolen has not been determined, it has been confirmed that he gained access to the cash register after causing significant damage.
One arrest following a coordinated search
The individual was finally located in the early morning hours of December 30 on País Vasco street, where he was being held by Local Police officers.
The National Police, who had already gathered evidence of his involvement in the three cases, immediately proceeded to his formal arrest.
The suspect was brought before the court on suspicion of three counts of robbery with force.
