The Consell de Formentera has called the tests to obtain the municipal cab driver’s license, an essential certification to operate on the island.
The exams will be held in two sessions, the first on March 3 and the second on April 4, with a registration process that varies according to the date selected.
Requirements and registration process
Those interested in applying for the first call have until February 25 to register, either in person at the Citizen Service Office (OAC) in Sant Francesc, or through the Virtual Citizen Service Office (OVAC) on the website of the Consell de Formentera.. For the second call, registration will open on March 14 and will be open for five working days.
At the end of the registration period, a provisional list of those admitted and excluded will be published on the notice board and on the website of the Consell. Applicants will have three working days to present allegations before the publication of the definitive list.
Examination contents
The test evaluates a series of fundamental knowledge for the provision of cab service on the island. Among the language requirements, applicants must demonstrate a basic level of English, in addition to another foreign language to choose from German, French or Italian. Tests of knowledge of Catalan and Spanish are also included.
Participants will also have to answer questions about local geography and regulations, including knowledge of the streets, places of tourist, historical and geographical interest, as well as the regulation of access to natural areas. Aspects of the Municipal Regulation on the provision of urban and interurban transport services in Formentera will also be evaluated.
