The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) and the General Directorate of Emergencies have activated the yellow alert in Ibiza and Formentera for locally heavy rains and storms that could occur throughout this Sunday due to the squall Claudia.
In this way, the severity index 0 of the Meteobal Plan for rains and storms is activated, so the 112 Balearic Islands has called for caution in the coming hours, to follow the advice of the authorities and call 112 in case of an emergency, as indicated in his account on the social network X.
This advice would include taking measures to prevent water from entering through doors and windows, not leaving furniture or objects outside that could be swept away by the water, staying in high areas of the house and not going down to flood areas such as garages or basements and, in the event of flooding, turning off the main switch.
If rain begins to fall while driving, it is recommended to reduce speed, keep a safe distance and drive on main roads.
The Aemet for its part will remain active alert from 07.00 to 14.00 hours in Formentera, Ibiza and Mallorca, where in addition to rainfall are expected gusts of strong wind.
