The Emergency Service 112 in the Balearic Islands has activated the Severity Index 0 (IG0) of the Meteobal Plan in the whole of the Islands due to the forecast of rains and storms in the archipelago.
In a message on the social network X, Emergencies has reported the activation of the alert for adverse weather in the Balearic Islands, which responds to the yellow warning established by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) for this Monday.
In Ibiza and Formentera, the alert has been activated at 00.00 hours and will last until 14.59 hours.
In view of this scenario, Emergencies has requested caution during the next few hours to the population, which has been urged to follow their advice and call 112 in case of emergency.
The tips
Among the advice given by Emergencias in the event of rain and storms are the following: if you are at home, take measures to prevent the entry of water by securing doors and windows, do not leave objects or furniture outside that could be swept away by the water, do not go down to flooded areas of the house and stay in high areas, and, if the house is flooded, turn off the main electricity switch; and, if you are driving, moderate your speed, keep a safe distance and drive on main roads.
